Hey guys, I found a new “courtesy vehicle” with less than 2k Miles.

2022 space white 2.7l XLT 302a.

2 reasons for the purchase, it wa sorcerer early 2022, so it’s msrp is lower than a 22 ordered in the summer by about $2,000. Secondly I’m getting it at invoice, and it has a ford courtesy vehicle rebate of another $1750.
However, I cannot pick it up until a recall is done on it, I’ve come across this a few times in search of a 2.7l. Anyone know what specific recall this may be? I was told they are waiting for the pet to come in.
Anything to look into on these early ordered 22’s?

What's a courtesy vehicle if you don't mind me asking?

This is a great find. Usually most courtesy vehicles have between 7-25K on them when sold. The only things to look for are no damages to paint, get them to change the oil, and grab Forscan and reset the transmission adaptive tables. The last one is because different people have driven it, the transmission will likely not know how to behave and have odd shifting behavior. Resetting the tables will force it to re-learn now under your driving style.

When you reset it drive it easily around on surface streets for about 20 minutes. This will set the initial tables and pressures. Then for the next 250-500 miles it will adapt to your driving style.

The only other things to look for is if it falls under the parking lamp recall, and TSB for the loud tailgate pop when closing. The first is supposed to be a module software update. The tailgate pop is an easy fix. Took care of mine myself with an 8mm 6 point and 1/4" driver and torqed the torsion bar block down. Took about 20 minutes and didn't have to pull the tailgate to do it.

Good find! I love my 302A 2.7. Mine was also early, built Jan 3, 2022.

With regards to recalls I’ve only had the trailer brake software update done. I have received a couple notices about one to address the tailgate inadvertently opening but worded in that I should only make an appointment if I’ve experienced it. Or it could be the windshield wiper one. Both would require parts.

So I believe it’s some kind of light flicker recall?

Yea it sounds like if it can’t be recorded it needs a new LED module, which is what I’m waiting on
It's a software update to the module. Ford just hasn't implemented it yet and with their parts back-order issues who knows how long it will be before they get them out to dealerships.
