What’s a 3.3?
The naturally aspirated V6, it’s the base engine option on the XL and XLT. Almost everyone pays to get at least the 2.7 EcoBoost, but you do see the NA V6 on some trucks.

Back when I worked for dealerships it was always Valvoline from the local bulk supplier.
Can confirm this is how my dealership runs also. It’s still very high quality oil, just in bulk so it can be pumped out of the guns all over the service dept

Service guns? That would be fancy... We had 40 gallon drums with barrel pumps and a bucket.

It really makes no sense for any auto shop to use retail quart packaging due to the volume of oil they go through. Most are getting oil by the drum/barrel. Lower cost and less waste to dispose.

Yeah, I mentioned the 2.7 because it's the cheapest upgraded engine from the 3.3, I think the 5.0 is a little more than that, then the 3.5 EB and PB being the most expensive. I wish more trucks on dealer lots would have a better variety of engines, it was the biggest thing attracting me to a custom order back when I bought my truck, 90% of the trucks on lots are all the 2.7 unless they're a Platinum or higher trim, in which case they almost always put the 3.5 EB in.

I went with the 5.0 w/3.73 locker since im old and love the v8.

Also the snow prep requires v8. And i wanted the better rear end.

Any good quality oil with the correct weight for your vehicle is better than dirty oil. Change it on time and regularly and you'll be fine. My 2010 5.4 3 valve I used Valvoline full synthetic, changed it every 5000 miles with a new oil filter, and 200,000 miles later never had a problem, not even cam phasers. I was told this by my high school auto shop teacher and he was right. Don't worry about the brand, just change it!

Is there something special about the Motorcraft engine oil?? I wasn’t even thinking about using it when my trucks arrives. Mobil 1 has been my go to oil for years and the plan is to stick with it.
The thinking is from The Car Guy USA is if you can buy Motorcraft oil off the shelf why not use it over others when Ford recommends it? Hard to argue.

I think the big difference is the cam and chains require different oil compared to pushrod engines. Chain engines require a very different oil due to shearing. Modern oil pumps also shear oil depending style. I think MC oil is some of the best available for any chain driven, VCT engines. Heat is the next issue. 10k mile changes for v8. Idk what’s recommended for ecoboost intervals. I’m skeptical of 10 k even on the V8.
If there selling sub, bulk oil, I’d find another dealer.
Most know all oils are not the same by weight.
