2021 tuning question

I’m considering tuning my 21’ 3.5 eco, do I have to ship the ecu to unlock before tuning? I’m thinking of using 5 star with the X4

I did not have to do that with my 5 Star tuned 2017 or my Livernois tuned 2021.

called 5 star today and said no need to send ecu in if using SCT

to use HP tuners or Cobb you have to send in your ECU. Those 2 devices tune through the OBDII port, which will require unlocking your ECU.

Livernois or the SCT you plug directly in to the ECU under the hood. No need to send in ECU for that

Yup, I ended up getting the sct x4 and 5 star tunes, very nice upgrade, truck feels great
