I'm considering upgrading my 8" cluster to the 12". I'm wondering if the 12" provides anything that the 8" doesn't. If I'm going to drop $2100 for the upgrade, I really want extra controls and/or customizations that the 8" doesn't offer. The "coolness" factor isn't really enough for me to justify the money. Hoping someone who's done the swap can chime in.

TIA!

I tend to agree. Wish it had options to pick from different style gauges. The numbers look a bit cheap to me. Too big for my liking. I'd prefer the option to have digital gauges that look like analog. It is very sharp looking otherwise though.

$2100 for a 12 inch screen... what can it possibly do that its worth $2100 go buy urself a 75" 4k tv instead.. also not fan of the 12 inch myself after driving in a lariat, a little takky imo. they should of made it look more serious.

I actually really love the combination of digital with the analog gauges that the 8'' screen provides. Of all the ways I've been thinking of "uplifting" my XLT, replacing the gauge cluster isn't even on the list. There are reports now of the 12'' clusters failing. I haven't heard of a single 8'' cluster failing.

And $6920 basically for leather seats going from an XLT to a Lariat.....No thanks.

My 302a XLT came with an 8” cluster, I wasn’t even aware of the 12” cluster (I never considered any trim level above XLT).

Boy, did I luck out! It’s a personal thing, but I despise electronic speedo/tach! And from photos others have posted here, the layout of the 12” just looks weird and hard to use - I’m thinking of, for example how the speed limit icon and cruise control settings are positioned.

You’re probably getting the idea that I have a (strong) preference for the 8” cluster. But it’s a case of different strokes for different folks.
