09/19/22 Build Week -- Final Delivery

Mine turned into a bit of a sh!t show. After purchasing the truck, I couldn’t make it out to pick it up so arranged a transport to pick up and deliver to me. The dealership screwed up the VIN on the paperwork. I missed it, but noted twice to them that the truck wasn’t a 23, it was a 22, only to be told it was correct and their paperwork just showed that. I should have pushed harder and looked closer, but made the stupid mistake of trusting they knew what they were doing.

Transport picks up the vehicle, and the delivery was supposed to be today. I get a call from the dealership stating they need a picture of the VIN. I was out of state, and arranged a neighbor to take delivery so I told them I couldn’t get it until it was delivered. Then they broke the news - they shipped the wrong truck.

Now I am waiting to hear how they will get me the right truck. The transport took the other truck back with him to go to Virginia. Mind you, we are in Colorado. So while today was supposed to be an awesome day, it ended up sucking pretty bad. Even better was finding out the dealer posted up for sale on their website the truck I was supposed to get. Mistakes happen, but holy cow was this a doozy. The transporter said in all his years he has never seen a dealer ship the wrong truck like that. Then they tried to haggle him on the price to bring it back

I received a call from Granger today to finalize the paperwork and they found another $1000 rebate. I fly out tomorrow to pick it up on Friday -- no thanks to Southwest.

Just got it here yesterday. Windows ceramic tinted and tonneau today on before we got a big snow storm out here. The GM at dealership was less than helpful, lied a couple times to us (my trade by day is as an interrogator , not someone you should try and pull one over on), and put no effort into getting the right one out quickly. I had to put together quotes from shipping companies, and then ended up just having one of the companies call them and make them pay the invoice to have it shipped out. So no effort on their part to get shipping lined up on it, that fell on me to do because the GM said “I have had no luck finding transport” after two days. I had it done in 45min the first time, and 30min the second time. Communication has been rough too, I have had to pester to get info instead of them taking the initiative to follow up on correcting the issue. They never even told me it was picked up the second time around. The worst part? Not one single person apologized for the mistake

In the end I have the truck finally, and it’s everything I wanted. I just packed up some liquid goodies to ship out to @Madscio for hooking me up with this truck he let go. I’ll ship once the dang snow lets up out here!

Nice work on your part to get the delivery accomplished. It looks awesome and very similar to what mine should look like.

Looks sweet. Well done finally getting it home @C2PO! A bit surreal finally seeing after so long. Hope that snow clears up and you can get it out and really enjoy it.

Love hopping in mine everyday. Little over 1500 miles on mine now. Utility and comfort on these trucks is killer. Now just to get my hands free blue cruise maps to update…

So after being told my truck was built, but it actually wasn't, I woke up to some great news today! I might actually get the truck that belongs to the extra boxes in my garage! I got the built email from Ford with an expected delivery between Jan 6th-12th. Tracker shows a built date but still says in production.
"Built date" is 27 Dec.

It has been my experience that the email message from Ford stating the truck is built, shipped, etc. is accurate (excluding any date estimate). Everything else is questionable. At the same time once my truck was built, the estimated dates weren't too far off.

I actually assume when you get built that the next date isn’t for delivery to dealership but estimate for shipping. Especially since I just got built status 12/27 and my delivery to dealer is 12/27-1/2 which is in California
