Sync 4 won't notify about new texts

Hi everyone. I have a 22 PB plat. When I first got it in December, it would notify me when I received a text and read it to me off I chose to. Recently, I noticed that it no longer does that. I have looked at every setting I can find to see if something was not turned on. All of me settings seem ok. All I can think of is that after the sync update to 3.5.4, something changed. A Google search doesn't provide me with much info.
Had anyone else experienced this and did you find the cause and cure? Thanks

Mine starting doing this awhile back. I think it is a CarPlay setting. I will have to look into it later to see if it was a phone update or truck.

On iPhone. Settings; Siri & Search; Announce Notifications; Toggle notifications on; CarPlay; Select announce new messages. That should take care of it, though I haven't tried it yet.

Thanks for the reply. I just got off the phone with sync tech support. They had me unpair my phone and delete and re add it to sync. Then they had me do the soft reset with the volume down and forward button. And that seems to have done it. I had someone send me a text and it popped up on the screen and I could read it and either reply or have it read aloud to me. All by voice command. Just like it was before. I use Android auto btw. I don't use car play.

mine gives me the option to read it but it's android.

mine does it every-now and then
if i have pandora running it seems to stop the music, but nothing ever pops up on screen, then a few miles down the road the music resumes and the phone makes a noise.

then other times its BANG on, pops up, reads it to me etc

i think HAL has so much running that he plays windows and looses his electronic brain for a second or two

I dedicate the Sync shortcut tab to the phone with my corporate email account. We are 24/7/365, so although I don't necessarily need to read every email in real time, I do so enjoy that Sync let's me see sender and subject.
That's all I need to know to know whether I need to look closer.
