Porpoising is the result of too little payload support at the rear axle and too little shock dampening at the front wheels. Best solution are the Rancho XL adustable shocks as they allow you to tune the front and rear shocks individually for you situation.
With a 3700 lb load in the bed of my 2500 truck I would set the Rancho shocks at a "5" setting at the front and "10" at the rear. When the bed was empty I would adjust the rear shocks to the "5" setting. Takes only one minute to make the changes to the rear shocks.
Shocks will not compensate for an overloaded rear so if the truck sags at the rear with a load in the bed or a trailer connected then the springs need to be augmented.
