Release button on tailgate handle not working

21 XLT 302a so no power up/down tailgate.

The one thing I didn't check on the truck prior to taking delivery isn't working. I tried the power release from inside the truck and the fob and worked fine. I tried hitting the button and...nothing.

Shouldn't the button work from the handle?

It should but the truck has to sense the key fob to unlock the tailgate. When you tried the button on the tailgate was the fob in your pocket?

If the truck is already unlocked, you don't need the fob. If not, hello dealer.
