I think it's a neat product at a decent price point, and added it to my list of stuff I may eventually get (especially if they've got a sale). I already have a bunch of straps, so getting just a few hook plates may be just what I need.

If anybody was wondering about the stresses, kudos to user becman on a different forum [source] for digging up the boxlink specs. 275 pounds across from each other, or 600 pounds diagonally.

Every ratchet strap has had failures from corrosion and that is with them stored in the cab when not in use. Spending $70 for a bed mounted one that will fail at some point would cause me to have a backup strap in the cab. If the mounted strap takes away a connection point for the backup strap then this will not work either.

I have a storage bin mounted under the rear seat of the crew cab and this is where I store multiple ratchet straps and bungee cords and rope.

I have 2 of these on order and I''ll be putting them both at the back.

I'm done with untangling my straps every time I have a dozen or so pieces of lumber or my ladder in the back that I don't want sliding around and landing in the next lane when I go around a corner.

For me it's just about my load being secure for what is usually a short and urgent trip to the local hardware so for me they fit the bill and up the convenience.

Anything heavier then I use the trailer and my heavier straps......

The use cases for these straps seem quite limited.

the things I haul for family and friends are most always oddly shaped and I need straps going at multiple angles to secure.

For example, how do you secure a BBQ grill with these?

And since these would require removing my box-link cleats, it would really restrict options when trying to secure something other than the long 2x6 shown in the video.
