Has anybody had problems with their lane keeping system?? Mine quit working randomly and it freaking sucks. It says active on my cluster screen yet takes no action or alert whatsoever when my truck goes off lane.

For them to actually be active, you need to be going at least 40MPH. I think mine activates around 38 or 39MPH

Also be sure you didn't hit the button. It can be turned on and off in the settings or the button on the steering wheel can be pressed. I turn my off on the steering wheel when towing.

Hi there. This lane assist concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

As mention earlier you need to drive at a minimum certain speed. Also the lanes on the road need to be visible by your truck. If you look at the display both lanes (exterior of the truck pictogram of the lane assist) have to be green.

I been going WELL over 40 mph with solid colored lines on the road and the stupid truck still doesn’t acknowledge the lanes.

I also have both the lane keeping system on both the steering wheel and head unit.

I had lane assist on my previous vehicle, and the steering prevented me from swerving to avoid a large puddle. Nearly caused me to hydroplane on the highway

I never turned it on since on any of my vehicles.

Just food for thought

There are more options to lane keeping than just on/off.

Assume that vehicle was not a F-150.

On F-150 you can have it just alert you, if you don't want the truck to take any action.

But even with action, it does not prevent any action on your part, if you want to twist the steering wheel and cut across 4 lanes, it will not stop you.

I wish I could help you more. The only other thing that I can think of is you can adjust the sensitivity of it via the main console. But you may have already done this...

Safety features are not for the nominal case when everything is fine. Something like lane assist is to notify (and correct) for the case when you should have pulled over an hour ago and got a cup of coffee, or your kid all of a sudden lets out a blood curdling scream from the back seat, or you're driving with you windows open and a wasp comes flying in, etc. etc. Things that weren't planned, and take you out of your normal driving attention. If you really don't like them, then don't use them. In 30 years we (or our kids) will all be sitting in the "back seat" while the AI drives, anyway. o_O
