Hey All. First post. Wanted to know if anyone knew the what defines a build getting sent to Dearborn or KC? Just curious mostly. Ordered 3/29 and truck got sent to KC and now they have 4 weeks of shut down

Certain colors or engine configurations are only built at one plant in order to save money/labor/capital on required machines, robots, personnel, etc

Thats What i assumed. I wonder if anyone know what configs go where.
Mine is a W1C - 4x2 Supercrew. From what I saw at my dealer the other W1C trucks ordered were also KC.

My order is a 4x2 W1C also. Scheduled for production at KC.

Sucks that KC is shutdown for you know but in the bright side all the trucks I’ve seen get built only to sit and wait on chips/parts for extended periods of time have been in MI. I could be wrong. I got lucky that my truck got built and shipped out of KC in the week between the first shutdown and the second, current one.

I ordered my truck from a dealer in Detroit (I’m in VA) because they gave me a great X plan deal and also sell a ton of trucks so they’re pretty in tune with Ford operations.

According to them all PowerBoost trucks are built in Dearborn. Other motors/platforms can hit either plant. It does seem more of the higher trims (Platinum/Limited) hit Dearborn, but that could be due to engine choices too.

just ordered 3.5EB XLT 302a Sport, Carbonized Gray on 4/19, vin came today 4/26- and it looks like its gonna be Dearborn based of my Vin decoder, 11th position is F.

I ordered same day as you (powerboost, so Dearborn). Haven't received my VIN yet. Did you just ask the dealer for it? Do you have a build week scheduled?

Kansas City is my #1 favorite city in all of America. (Although their airport REALLY sucks!)

Ordered 3/29. Have my VIN but I don’t expect any movement until KC opens back up. Priority code 19 for me.

can attest to their airport. It’s rough! Have not experienced KC yet, I had the pleasure of landing there and driving 3 hours to Marysville
