Just saw this on a newswire:

  • Ford says it will halt production at its truck plant in Dearborn, Mich., for two weeks starting April 5, and take a week of downtime on F-150 production at its Kansas City, Mo., assembly, and it is canceling overtime shifts at both plants through June.

What's a Super Shift?

Is that the shift they assign all the men & women that work so incredibly hard that they're regularly referred to as having superhuman strength?

The dealer says my scheduled build date is April 3. Kinda close to the April 5 close-down. I'm preparing to hear my truck got built...but will have to wait until after the 2 week shutdown until enough other trucks are built so they can load a full rail car.
I guess the good news is that years from now when these trucks become collectible, those of us with 2021's will have rare model years.

If I am Fords CEO, I have ReMax on speed dial.

The Covid excuse is worn out.

My hope with this shutdown is that all those trucks currently waiting to ship will be shipped and the accessories can be put on clearing that huge backlog. Hopefully, whenever our trucks finally do get built they'll fly through all of that.

Dumb question but... are F150s solely built at only the Dearborn and Kansas City plants?
