I can understand that it would be nice to have my vehicle's exterior lights come on as I approach it at night on the street, or in a lot. However the continual on/off--on/off gets rather annoying while I am working in my garage.
How can I disable that feature?
Thanks

Take the key out of your pocket when you are in the garage.

or put the 2nd key inside your truck.

I understand that leaving the key elsewhere, instead of in my pocket, soles the problem. But then that creates other inconveniences.

I am not sure I understand the logic behind the idea of leaving the "2nd key" in the truck. I understand how it would prevent the lights on/lights off annoyance, but then I have to remember not to leave the key in there.

I thought you could, check through the settings for anything related to “Approach Lighting” and/or Zone Lighting and disable all those and you might be able to get rid of it.

Pretty certain you can turn it off in the settings, but I can’t check exactly where at the moment.

You can't have it all. You can turn them off in the settings. But, that is another inconvenience to do that and turn them back on.

There is no setting for ... Only do it when I want.

When I'm working around the house/garage I don't carry any keys. When I'm pulling the truck outside to wash it for instance I just set my key fob on my workbench. I just grab them once I'm fixing to pull it back in.

What you're describing is the "Approach Lighting" feature which can be disabled through the Settings menu.

I turned mine off (in conjunction with my power running boards) because it was annoying to have the power running boards/lights deploy any time I walked near the truck.

Got it!
Harlemax: Thanks, You did send me down the right path, but I took a different fork, and it worked.
Settings
Vehicle
Ambient Lighting: Choose "WELCOME LIGHTING" On/ or Off

Choosing "Off" did the trick.
