How can I find out if I have the dynamic headlamps on my f150? It is the Platinum 501A. Or maybe the Vin#? Salesman at the dealer said I had it. I’m not so sure.

Turn the truck on, facing a wall?

You'll see it.

Also, call me ignorant, but I don't think there is a thing as a 501A platinum.

If it's a Platinum you have it, but if it's a 501 thats a Lariat which does not have them, they are on the 502's and up.

Easy way to tell is if the headlights dance when you turn on the truck or they bend with the steering of the truck.

It's a bit confusing - your profile says 'Lariat' but you're talking about a Platinum here.

If you have a Lariat 501A, you do not have dynamic bending lights. If you have a Lariat with the 502A package and above (Platinum and Limited), then you do have dynamic bending.

Easiest way, post a pic of your headlights.

I find the beam pattern uneven and distracting. It is sure not the bright even beam of my wife‘s car or my ’23 Tahoe. The projector lenses seem to have lots of seams and reflections I am just impressed. Like the lens have cracks inside them.

It's difficult to pin down the trim level of your truck. So I don't think anyone can answer definitively if you have the projector LEDs or the reflective LEDs.

The projector LEDs are the ones that support Glarefree and Adaptive lighting. It's significant technology, but I admit that it's not as consistent across the full landscape, side to side, as a traditional light. There are "zones", so to speak, when in Glarefree mode especially. I wish I better understood how the light shaping is accomplished because I believe it would explain why it's not a simple consistent blanket of light. But regardless, I find them very functional and undoubtedly the best lighting in any Ford truck that I have ever owned.

I certainly have no complaints at being able to see what I need to see.

Look at the amber lens between the top and bottom headlights…wide = you don’t have it…narrow= you do.

I see several ways.
1. Visually, the headlights do not have 4, but two lenses, when starting engine , the headlights move.
2. hcm module under the steering wheel.
3. forscan has hcm in the list of available modules.
4. Download ab file from ford site and in the list see module hcm

Let me clarify that my profile pic needs to be changed.
I “had” a 23 Lariat 502A that I purchased in late Dec. and after a couple of weeks started having electrical problems with the truck so I traded back in for my current vehicle - 23 Platinum edition 701A.
I will update profile and send pic of headlamp soon.

Quick pic of headlights...
Those are indeed the projector LED headlights, the ones that have the "dynamic bending" you're asking about.

They're the best headlights I've ever had in any vehicle, I'm very happy with them.

Yes, those are projector headlamps and have adaptive capability. Whether or not the adaptive function has been enabled on 2023s, I can't confirm, as early versions sold in USA, did not (all Canadian deliveries were). These are the best headlights I've ever driven in North America or UK/Europe and I fail to comprehend some of the negative comments directed towards them.

And I admit that it's so strange to have such headlight technology on a Ford Pickup truck.
I mean Ford has only just now, literally 2024, stopped using base level halogen headlights on the F150.

It took them long enough, but they definitely, finally, dipped their toes into the headlight arms race.
