I'm getting ready to turn in my 2022 Lariat and will likely have an XLT this time around due to ridiculous prices. I know I'll be making some sacrifices with the interior finish, but I'm wondering about the 4x4 options. My last XLT (2018) didn't have a 4A option and it was a pain in the ass.
Is this a trim level option, or do all of the 4x4's now have the 4A option as well as the different driving modes?

My ‘23 302a doesn’t have 4A. Not sure if it isn’t available on the XLT or if it’s an option that didn’t get checked on mine.

In the end it doesn’t really bug me, but if I did want to add the functionality it can be done.

4A is only for Lariat and above.
Where does that even show up on the build options? What is it packaged with?

I think 4A is great for those times when the roads have just a little snow cover and you want the confidence that you won't spin off the road on a slick curve and then don't have to turn it off just because you are pulling into a parking lot where it might be dry.

It’s not an option. Just standard on Lariat up.

In the Order Guide under XL Standard Equipment, we find
  • 4x4 Electronic-Shift-On-the-Fly (ESOF) with Neutral Towing Capability
ESOF transfer case is without the "Auto" setting; then all trims through XLT are the same as XL standard equipment except where noted.

In the Order Guide under Lariat Standard Equipment, we find
  • Two-Speed Automatic 4WD with Neutral Towing Capability
This is the TOD / Torque On Demand transfer case with the "Auto" setting; then all trims through Platinum are the same as Lariat standard equipment except where noted.

Yeah, I suppose it could be more explicit, but it is what it is.
