Works fine for me
Did have the media card become corrupted and it started rebooting every five minutes, but a new card fixed it.
Not a big high techy thing and the image is okay, but the only reason I got it for the new truck is because someone turned left in fron of me in December and totaled my 98 Chev. ( has since been repaired)
I got the front and rear and had Ford install before I took the truck home.

I have the Ford dash cam and I would not buy it again. They force you to use their way over priced proprietary micro sd cards which eventually become corrupted. On the manufacturers website they admit the expected life of a card is only 6 months then you have to over pay for another.

So you cannot use SanDisk High Endurance or other third party brand?

Maybe this is a dumb question but given all the cameras with copilot 360 why couldn’t they add a logging component to the system that stores footage from an incident.

Nope. I tried buying a high quality SanDisk video recording sd card and it gave me errors.

Right?????? This would be an obvious win.
Add to it the ability to VIEW cameras when in motion.....at least the truckbed/payload view.

I used a PNY I had laying around and it has been fine
Does anyone else have any experience with this? I'd also like to use my points for this, but not if I have to buy an overpriced proprietary micro SD card every six months. If a generic micro SD card will work then "free" is a good price for the system.

I think a better use of your money would be to get a known quality dash cam and have it professionally installed.

I'm currently running a Thinkware F100 w/ hardwire kit. Had it installed for me, looks great and almost stock. No special software needed, I just remove the sd card and I can get to the files just fine.

ALERT: the Ford dashcam doesn't work with the Powerboost.

It installed fine for me but kept entering into parking mode while I was sitting in traffic, which was annoying because then it would beep every minute because it thought the truck was parked and somebody had messed with it, then the card filled up and it constantly gave an error about that.

I figured out that the camera was from Thinkware. Thinkware customer service admitted that the OBD-II adapter in the kit won't work with hybrids and that that was why I was getting errors. They said that you need to install using a hardwire kit and that they still need to work with Ford to get that fact listed on the accessories site.

By the time you get a camera and a hardwire kit, there is no advantage to going with the Ford accessories kit unless you want to donate money to Ford. Not that the Thinkware camera is bad, just defeats what to me is the only reason to go with the Ford accessories kit.

Calling Ford to complain has been so infuriating and frustrating that I'm about to just give up on the $200 and chalk it up to a lesson learned. Just wanted to prevent others from making the same mistake.

Ive had my Ford Thinkware for about 2 months and the camera works fine. Mine came with a small black box with a red led that, according to instructions, provides a false "engine on" signal to the camera so it stays powered on when in electric mode. BUT, I do not have my camera set to parking mode so not sure if this makes a difference. My issue with the Thinkware is that it is very difficult to connect to the camera via wifi, takes about 6-8 connects/disconnects before it stays connected.

It's probably because you don't have parking mode enabled. I'm just guessing though. Mine works 96% of the time. It's just when I'm crawling along in traffic in electric mode that it sometimes flips into parking mode. I figured out that that OBD-II connector is made by Echomaster (https://us.thinkware.com/accessories/echomaster-obd-ii-power-cable/) and the site says explicitly that it doesn't work with electric and hybrid. I had almost decided that it was working fine somehow but then it flipped into parking mode again yesterday and I decided to post this--Thinkware customer service was right. I'm glad that yours is working for you though.

By the way, the camera is called model DC-E1-FG, which is equivalent to the F70 in terms of hardware but has different firmware. The F-70 doesn't have WiFi. Not sure what you mean about it connecting and disconnecting. Are you sure we are talking about the same thing?: https://accessories.ford.com/products/dashcam-140-dash-camera

I have learned all about Thinkware, Echomaster, the cameras and wiring options, which is EXACTLY what I was trying to avoid by just purchasing that Ford accessories unit. More than anything, I wanted reliable plug and play. Oh well.
