Center Console storage tray sliding door

So, after getting a notification that my "in production 23" is now on hold for some mysterious reason, I wanted to look further into this. I dislike that the current generation F150 XLT's don't have the tray cover as they did in previous generations. Does anyone know if this cover can be ordered or do I need an entire center console to get the cover

I would have liked this in my 21 XLT. Hope it can be added.

i would assume a whole new center console is needed. i don’t see Ford leaving the slot open to just pop in the sliding cover.

I think you need a different front cubby as well as the console top piece.

I agree with @Wes1963 ....looked at mine and there is no place to install a cover. Would have to change the whole thing out. Not worth the effort and cost for me to do it.

The front cubby is about $30. The console top piece can probably be found on eBay.

Welp, I (finally) found the lid. It's about a $250 on ebay and looks like it's all one piece. I just need to figure out how it all comes apart and viola. I'll be fancy.

So after a bit of a deep dive, there's a couple different options. You can JUST get the sliding cover piece, there's a piece that comes with a charging pad, you can get it with the cupholders and shifter surround, and some of THOSE come with the LED trim rings. So, I'm going to do some more research. This could end up being a really cool factory upgrade.

looks like you can add it according to these pics. looks like the assembly is separate from the console. i'm sure the consoles are the same. you may have a different trim piece in place of the sliding console piece. should be pretty simple

The 2nd one you posted is the one I was originally looking at. But, now I'm debating if I want to get something with the cup holder rings or not. There's some cool options in there.

yeah i'd love to change my Lariat one out to a limited or raptor one but ford doesnt make things easy or cheap. haha

Any update on this?
I've been thinking about adding one to my 21 XLT. I've seen about 4 on Ebay with the slider and little storage compartment.

Also wondering if I do this and pick up one with the charging pad, will my truck already have the wires there to plug and play.
