2021 5.0, Running a JLT Passenger Side Catch Can. I clean out my catch can every oil change (have the extended capacity can)
Took into dealership because I was driving 50 degree day out here in Midwest Chicago drove Truck for 90 minutes on highway working great.
Got off highway, shortly after getting off highway truck surged, dash lit up like Xmas tree Service Engine, wrench light, traction control light, adaptive cruise. (Limp mode kicked in)
Pulled over side of road ran my code got P2112
Turned on turned off still stuck in limp mode. Pulled out 10mm wrench disconnected 10mm neg battery cable. Start up truck good to go!
Get 5 minutes down the road falls into limp mode again (repeat battery cable)
Floor it to highway fine till I get off 30 miles later then falls on face.
Take it to dealership today no lights after pulling battery but codes are still in memory, they call few hours later
"Dealership states catch can froze up which backflowed the throttle body directly lined in the throttle body"
I've owned many vehicles all with catchcans out here in Midwest and I know as vehicle tech gets better and sensors get advanced and smarter never once have I heard that nor had a issue running them I know the oil inside will change due to weather conditions but once engine gets hot and up to temperature there will be no freezing in the lines I'd think.
So dealership is trying to stick me with $150 bill now for 1 hour service which I'll be ticked if its the beginning of my Throttle body getting ready to go as I've seen in older ecoboost and so far 1 Gen 14 F150 5.0
