Backup sensor silver paint color?

Hi all,

Someone hit my bumper just enough to brak the plastic bezel for the backup sensor. No damage to the sensor itself or chrome bumper. I went to buy a new plastic bezel from the dealer, and found that they only come in black and expect you to have a body shop paint it!?! Plastic bezel is $22. I can't imagine it is at all reasonable to have the boty shop paint it. For them or me.

Does anyone know what the silver color paint is that the painted bezel and sensor use? The dealer was no help in identifying it. I'm hoping to find a touchup spray to use for it.

Go to a body shop supply with your paint code number or better yet, with your truck. They can match the paint color and give you either a small bottle of paint or put the paint in a spray can.

I talked to the Ford body shop and they said that Ford doesn't even give them the paint code for this stuff. They just use whatever silver they have that is closest.

Since this sensor is isolated by itself in the chrome bumper, I just made a trip to O'Rieley's and got "Duplicolor - Whatever cap matched close enough Silver". I believe it is Ford Ingot Silver that Duplicolor had. The cap matched pretty close. It's drying now.

Iconic silver would have probably been closer, but it wasn't worth $40 - 50 for a spray can of that.
