RealTruck/Gator Tonneau Review

So last week I decided to order a Gator tonneau from RealTruck when they were on sale. Model #139783. Overall, the ordering experience was easy, e-mail follow up was on par with the best of them, and delivery time was short. No complaints.

The cover itself arrived under packaged, but luckily undamaged. Install was straight forward and instructions were good.

Definately not as good as more expensive covers but I’d buy again no doubt. I’d prefer a foam seal at the bed header and a design that didn’t require lifting the cover to properly shut the tailgate.

Overall, strongly recommend. Make sure you have beverages on hand for proper install.

i have the same cover on my ‘22 and my son has one on his ‘17. neither one of us have to lift the cover to shut the tailgate. you might try adjusting the rear most clamp up a bit and then tighten it down real good.

My second one of these covers. Really like the simplicity. Wasn't needing anything fancy or more secure. Thing I found helpful was to have a couple hand clamps to hold the rails in place while you get the metal clamps installed. I don't have to lift mine to shut the tailgate properly. Overall, I'm very happy with this cover

Just installed the same one on my 22 tremor. Like others mentioned the hand clamps come in handy for install. You might need to adjust it some if it’s interfering with the tailgate. I have no issues with mine opening or closing.

I'm going to fine tune it a bit this weekend. I raised it quite a bit already just to get it to latch. The tailgate will open and close, its just the rubber flap folds under if the cover isnt released. I'm sure I'll get it right, just an early observation.

That flap by the tailgate folds in/down on mine when I close it too. Haven't had any major issues with leaking yet

i think the rubber flap is supposed to stay down. it acts like a gasket seal that way. at least in my mind. i’m sure you will figure it out.

Yeah. I’m an effing idiot. You are correct. Fixed that and a few adjustments and she’s a whole lot better now.

glad you got it figured. we love ours…for the money, can’t be beat in my opinion.
