Ordered 2021 Lariat 502
In Jax as well with a 21 raptor on order... guess I’ll be getting more info from my dealer on who he uses and what product it is. He’s hooking me up at cost for the spray in line as it would be cheaper than from Ford. But if it’s line-x and just regular not premium I may opt for him to get the premium installed for a little more
nice lots of jax people in here! Did you go to duval Ford?

Was looking at the dealer her in Jax and I guess Line-X has a platinum product as well... anyone know if it’s worth it over the premium version?

I’ve read up about the Platinum as well.

Most Line-X installers have said it’s way overkill from the Premium. I was surprised by that, but two different shops said the same thing about it.

Hello again, friends! I finally got my Line-X bed liner a few weeks back and wanted to share my experience with you all!

Some of you all may have found that the Line-X material (as with everything else these days) was in short supply, so I had to wait a couple of months to find a supplier to have it installed.

A couple of Line-X retailers in my area also told me that they would spray bed only, and not make any attempt to coat the tailgate, or tailgate jamb areas. Thanks to your all's threads, I learned that those area could be done if I found the right installer.

Here are a few photos of the empty truck bed before. Almost a little sad to see so much of the beautiful blue covered up!!

Here is a quick peek of how they do their work. The Line-X team essentially cordons off the truck bed area with a large plastic tarp/cover and does all of their prep work such as removing the tailgate, bolts, drain plugs, Ford's box link mounts, etc.

I was impressed with the clean lines, and lack of overspray anywhere! It was apparent they really took their time on the preparations.

A few closing remarks for those of you guys wanting to have this done. It is a day long process. I dropped my truck off at Line-X at around 0700, and it was done at approximately 1500. The bed was ready to be put to use as soon as I picked it up.

Also a top tip, check your power tailgate!! I was giving my truck it's initial look over, I noticed my power liftgate would not work from the cab, or from the key fob. I went into a mini-panic thinking something was screwed up. It wasn't. Simply go into your truck's settings for the tailgate, and turn the "power" mode back on. I guess it likely got shut off when they removed the tailgate during the Line-X installation.

For those ladies and gentlemen in the North and Central Florida area, and are considering having Line-X installed on your F-150, I'd like to give kudos to Line-X of Volusia County. Derek answered all of my questions, and made me feel comfortable (well... as comfortable as I could be) turning my brand new truck over to have the liner installed. Derek and his team appeared very meticulous about their work, and did everything I expected. Their location near Daytona Beach is a hike, but was well worth it!
This is very timely for me. I just booked an appt with LINE-X of Central Florida for this Friday. Why didn't you choose those guys?

Also absolutely LOVE my Line-X bedliner!

One thing my detailer did point out though is that sometime there can be some overspray. I did get some overspray right above my rear left tail light and the dealer said just bring it in and they'll clean it right up with some mineral spirits. I haven't gone in yet, but I will eventually when I'm around that part of town again.

I'm glad it worked out for you. My installer still would not cover the bottom. He said that if it started getting scratched up then he would do it but still would not guarantee the tailgate would work.

I'm glad you held out.

Yeah, I had to make a hike to find one who would do it (correctly, in my opinion), but I’m glad I did.

Line-X Premium is $650 before tax in my area. The basic spray in Black in my 2010 F 150 faded a bit over time but never cracked, chipped, or anything in 11 years. So I opted for premium with the UV protection in Black. I negotiated with my dealer post-price dickering and he paid for it. I paid for Line-X undercoating and rust proofing, not that aluminium rusts but it can corrode. With tax that was $875, which considering how much my special ordered Lariat Supercab cost with 502A etc. was worth it to me. If your F 150 has less than 1000 miles at spray (mine had 86) then the undercoating and rust proofing is lifetime warranted, same as the bed. The Ford dealer took my vehicle to and from and got a discount for all three sprays at same time. Truck was gone all day but worth it. A note: the Premium or higher bed spray has the UV coating applied after the basic goes in and needs to cure for three-four days to fully harden. Don't put anything heavy in the bed until it does.

First, how much? Second, that is my old stomping grounds. I lived and worked in Volusia County for about eight years.

I got the bedliner done today. Oddly enough, you'll see that they somehow didn't completely cover the tailgate, so I'll have to drop it off again at some point for them to finish the job. Job was done at Line-x of Central Florida.

I’ve read up about the Platinum as well.

Most Line-X installers have said it’s way overkill from the Premium. I was surprised by that, but two different shops said the same thing about it.
My dealer said the same thing, and I said if I’m going to kill it, might as well overkill it. It looks beautiful — they did a great job. Only complaint was the box link mounts were put back on upside down. But that’s easily fixed. The Platinum is slightly thicker and more UV/solvent resistant. It was worth it for me… but your mileage may vary. I paid $800, just a few $$$ more than premium.
