I got the Line-X Premium too. It's totally worth the cost. Line-X is a top-notch product. Having regular old Line-X in my 2005 F-150 and seeing how badly it faded after only 5 years when I removed my toolbox to sell it, I definitely wanted the UV protection of the premium. My dealer did it for me at their cost, which was $600. The local Line-X place quoted me $750 if I were to bring it in after purchase! Luckily my dealer is cool.

Hello again, friends! I finally got my Line-X bed liner a few weeks back and wanted to share my experience with you all!

Some of you all may have found that the Line-X material (as with everything else these days) was in short supply, so I had to wait a couple of months to find a supplier to have it installed.

A couple of Line-X retailers in my area also told me that they would spray bed only, and not make any attempt to coat the tailgate, or tailgate jamb areas. Thanks to your all's threads, I learned that those area could be done if I found the right installer.

Here are a few photos of the empty truck bed before. Almost a little sad to see so much of the beautiful blue covered up!!

A small demo board of the Line-X product; standard versus premium coatings:

Here is a quick peek of how they do their work. The Line-X team essentially cordons off the truck bed area with a large plastic tarp/cover and does all of their prep work such as removing the tailgate, bolts, drain plugs, Ford's box link mounts, etc.

Looks like somebody was getting a fancy Ram TRX done up with the Line-X treatment too!

The finished product!! I opted for the Line-X Premium coating for my truck bed, and I think it came out AWESOME!!

I was impressed with the clean lines, and lack of overspray anywhere! It was apparent they really took their time on the preparations.

A few closing remarks for those of you guys wanting to have this done. It is a day long process. I dropped my truck off at Line-X at around 0700, and it was done at approximately 1500. The bed was ready to be put to use as soon as I picked it up.

Also a top tip, check your power tailgate!! I was giving my truck it's initial look over, I noticed my power liftgate would not work from the cab, or from the key fob. I went into a mini-panic thinking something was screwed up. It wasn't. Simply go into your truck's settings for the tailgate, and turn the "power" mode back on. I guess it likely got shut off when they removed the tailgate during the Line-X installation.

For those ladies and gentlemen in the North and Central Florida area, and are considering having Line-X installed on your F-150, I'd like to give kudos to Line-X of Volusia County. Derek answered all of my questions, and made me feel comfortable (well... as comfortable as I could be) turning my brand new truck over to have the liner installed. Derek and his team appeared very meticulous about their work, and did everything I expected. Their location near Daytona Beach is a hike, but was well worth it!
Excellent job...

These pictures showing the bed opening and around the tailgate work surface here are the reasons why I did not order the factory ford spray liner and will go with Line-X like you did.
Nice post :) I did the same Line X Premium and am super happy. I got lucky with a good installer also . San Antonio 2021 RCSB It is shiny black.

I may have to drive down to Daytona if no one in JAX will touch the tailgate. I haven't checked around yet since I'm still waiting for a VIN. What was the total time from drop off to pick up ? Was it hours or same day ? How long is the cure time ?
I'm in the great Duval county as well and I have an appointment Aug. 17th(tentative of my truck getting here before then) with Safari Truck & SUV Accessories on Blanding Blvd., they seemed really knowledgeable on the phone and if I remember correctly it was just under $600 for the premium. They said they remove all the hardware bits before applying it as well as that was a concern I had read about for other forum members. Will post pics if/when I get mine done.

I did the standard Line-X when I bought my truck in April. It never occurred to me that some installers wouldn't touch the tailgate. They did mine just fine, with no extra requests on my part.

If my understanding of the process is correct, that it the only option. They have to sand it down so it could adhere and cure better. I hated to see it go, but that nice gloss Line-X is a good replacement!

Looks good but they should have taped it off better around the light switch in the bed.

Also, for the Line X premium, that’s a great price.

I get mine tomorrow morning. Line-X Platinum and an electric tonneau cover. Had it a month and already put 3800 miles on it.

Are you talking about this?

Believe it or not I immediately noticed it as soon as I put the tailgate down the first time as I was inspecting it. Oddly enough, I kinda like the slight sliver of blue, so I didn’t have them mess with it.

Correct…..that’s what I was talking about.
Yes, it’s minor and many wouldn’t worry about it but I guess that’s my OCD kicking in.
Still looks good though.

In Jax as well with a 21 raptor on order... guess I’ll be getting more info from my dealer on who he uses and what product it is. He’s hooking me up at cost for the spray in line as it would be cheaper than from Ford. But if it’s line-x and just regular not premium I may opt for him to get the premium installed for a little more

Which is why I’m shocked it didn’t bother me. I’m incredibly OCD too about lost things. Noticed it first thing, would typically drive me nuts. Luckily it hasn’t (yet….).
