I had a fairly good deal in hand under invoice on retail order 2021 model, but made a decision to not order 2021. The order bank for 2022 should open on September 15, figured i could wait 45 days and more beyond that for a new year model. Hopefully there are some changes worth waiting for:)

Anyone else here in the same boat deciding to wait for 2022?

I ordered my truck last week but the way things are going probably wont see it until 2022 anyway :)

Are they making any changes to 2022 as 2021 was a disaster?

I can not find any news (not even rumors) on what is going into 2022 model changes.
Everything i see is buzz around electric Lighting and its options. But i am optimistic that something interesting (even if small ) will make it into non electric model too.

2022 retail orders likely won’t start rolling out until feb or March, given the delayed production start dates and Ford likely building stock orders first.

I have also been looking for what changes are on the 2022 and have found nothing.

I keep going back and forth on taking the 2021 I ordered or reordering a 2022.

I am thinking the same thing, with Sep retail order likely arriving late Jan all the way into Mar. I guess i can live with that. If i order 2021 now, it will be what, Oct-Nov at best. Good things come to those who wait:)

The only rumor I heard for 2022 was that front sensors would become standard. Instead of having to get that Assist driving 2.0 package. Oh and some shuffling around with what is included in packages.

What benefit would you have with a 2022 unit in March versus a 2021 unit in October ?

Vehicle depreciation. All things being equal a 2021 truck built in October will be worth less than a 2022 vehicle built in January.

What antimatter_plat said and 2nd year model, they usually apply fixes to first year shortcomings. Even for resale, perception wise, it should be better than a first year production.

That’s another good reason but I feel like kinks are generally worked out before the mid year production job starts. At least that’s what I told myself when I ordered mine.

Another reason I think I'm gong to order the 2021. I'm wanting the Lariat with only 300a, towing, adaptive cruise, which saves me thousands from not having to order the other packages. Just not anything I really want in them. Can't find a Lariat on the lot (when you find them at all) that only has the 300a with my setup.

This is one reason I want the 2021, I have to pay property tax every year based on value of the vehicle. And it's not cheap on the F-150....

I'm hoping for some end of year incentives since a large chunk of 2021 orders will be dropped on dealers in the latter half of the year.

I’ve never heard of a property tax on a vehicle. Only sales tax when purchasing if a state has it. Where does one have to pay a property tax on a vehicle? I’m in NJ, certain we don’t have it here.

You'll be lucky to see retail '22s hitting the lots before mid February
