Ordred 2022 F-150 Platinum in September, what's the holdup?

I order a 2022 f 150 platinum on sept 17 2021 and I have that ford has received my order and no build date yet I have checked with my dealer and do not know anything yet I have seen 2022 out what do you think the hold p is ? has any body had this much delay on getting a 2022 F-150 truck ?

From what I've read the platinum line has not been scheduled as much as others. Also a big hold up is if you didn't add adaptive steering (it's a option, not standard on 21 2nd job and newer)

Steve I'm in the same boat with my Platinum order.
My order was placed on the first day Ford opened ordering bank for 22 models. I haven't heard one a peep from FoMoCo.
Very frustrating ..........

Your dealer is your source for info, not Ford. They are not going to proactively reach out to you, that's the dealer's job as a representative of Ford. Call your salesperson and get an update.

My dealer told me that Ford would email us both (dealer and me) at the same time when my MY22 f150 KR is scheduled for production. I’ve reached out to ford as well as dealer for information. I ordered on 11/20 - no communication other than ford confirmed receipt of my order the day it was placed (I got a 10 priority). So far, their stories match. I realize that we are under weird circumstances with chip shortages - dealer said it would be 16-18 weeks based on their other orders. Im sitting tight.

FYI based on what I have seen over the last year 4-6 months is the norm for platinum builds. Since they didn't start building 22's until Dec I'd say you have a bit of a wait to go

I was in the same situation that ordered in September but no updates at all. In the middle of December, I contacted my dealer added Adaptive Steering option (17A). After two days, my platinum got scheduled to February of 2022.

Adaptive Steering option option (17A) is not showing on Ford website.

Since your is conversion from 21 to 22 you don’t have adaptive steering ford made it as option on 22 and builds without it not gett schedule without it do to luck of parts. So for quick build u need to add it

OMG!! Stop complaining. My MY21 XL truck was ordered on August 3rd and has been built 99.99% of the way but it’s sitting in a parking lot in Kansas right now waiting on a chip hold because your Platinum needs 10 times more chips to function.

My dealer tells me adaptive steering is now on commodity hold and could delay my order further, and they refuse to add it since I am already at "priority code 02". I have seen some people start to get scheduled without it though.

You have seen a Platinum get built without Adaptive Steering? That would definitely be a new development becuase since Job 2 started you had to have it on the order and there have been many examples where platinum orders sat for many weeks then added adaptive steering and were scheduled within week or two.

Received the email from Ford this morning at 3:55 a.m. that the 2022 F-150 Platinum has Shipped meaning it left yesterday Dec 28th. ETA is Jan 7th in Dallas. Ordered with adaptive steering. Dealer will spray bed and install bed cover. Build week was 11/29.
