So I'm seeing most people are going bigger for better when it comes to tires. I already have a 4x4. I bought my truck to build a street rod. I want to stay with the 17's but also want a size SHORTER tire but wide enough to fill out a 8.5 raptor wheel. I was looking for wheels but I'd rather spend the money on performance mods. Plus I found a set of 17 in raptor wheels for 150 bucks! That will get me by until after I finish the engine and suspension mods. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal but I'm paying off things as I retire in 6 months.

SO, who's done the same or close? What size tire did you go with and can you add pics? Right now I'm leaning towards a 265/60r 17. This is what the state troopers use. Seeing the truck runs 105 in 4th and at sub 2500 rpms, I'm looking for something that can take the heat. But I wouldn't mind a tire a tad wider and taller. I'm probably going to just end up at discount, but I'd rather buy them online as they are an hr drive away.

Had on my Grand Cherokee, loved them!

Not sure if they come in 17's though

I just looked up the tire and they don't make a 17in.

This is more than likely what is on your local state patrol vehicles part of the F150 responder series.

They use the 265/60 17s on the Tahoes. I'm looking for shorter tires, but not rubber band thin.
