Trip #2 with my 21 PowerBoost. This time at Manatee Springs State Park near Chiefland, Florida.
2023 E-Pro 20FBS TT 4400#s.

Got around 11.9 MPG w/93 octane gas on my return trip home in tow/haul mode with gears 8-10 locked out. Didn't seem to use the turbo boost much. Also, ran into another PB owner at the campgrounds.

Beautiful pictures! If you tow in normal mode, you can get some electric miles to help with mileage and truck will shut off engine in stop and go traffic to save gas. I absolutely agree to shut off the top gears as needed and especially when an uphill section of road is approached to start removing top gears to limit the turbo boost gauge from showing excessive boost that sucks gas. Maybe I am wrong but years ago we were told to not tow in normal mode because of the lock up torque converters getting damaged with heavy load on them. Correct me if I am wrong but modern transmissions are not easily damaged like years ago as they have a different design. I have a 2021 loaded powerboost and without towing always get 21-23 mpg with combined city/highway miles. Anytime I tow heavy, it is just local miles so I am at the 12 mpg range. Great truck! 12k miles so far and 2 years old.

Nice picture. Did you have any trouble making reservations? We have an EPro 19fd and plan to go in January. Did you swim with the Manatee ?

Making reservations was easy. We go on Sunday - Wed bc it is less crowed. No manatee's this trip bc they mostly use this area in the winter bc the spring water is warmer then the Gulf waters. You better book your site now for Jan 2024. I stayed in Loop 1 Spot #3. It didn't rain when we were there, but was told that site floods and has about a foot of water in it when it rains. Overall great campground.

Good to hear what others are getting with the trailer towing. We have a 21 on lariat and just completed a trip from Tacoma via Bend Or, Reno, and into Vegas. We picked up a 6x12 aluminum cargo trailer in Tacoma and went from there. We probably had 600 lbs extra weight. Mileage varied from 9 to 13 depending on wind, altitude and hills. I did play with tow haul/ econ/ and normal. Honestly, normal was the better of the three. Altitude went from sea level to 6k. I also tried reg and middle grade gas. The higher grade did better but I don’t know that it penned out $ wise.
Next week we head up to Alaska so more

I‘ll add a few things here. We shipped the blue truck down to Tacoma from Alaska where we live. We have family here in Nevada and also keep a 22 PB Lariat, black. The plan is to swap out the blue one for the black 22 and drive it back to Alaska with the trailer. The 22 has the max tow package, the 21 the middle option. they should run about the same i would think. The trailer is about 1100 lbs but I will load a few things for camping up through Canada that should bring it up several hundred. The truck will have a fairly good 500+ in it. We Alaskans don’t waste any opportunity to haul stuff back as the Fright rates kill us.

The blue one has the Bilstein 5100 6112 level kit i installed last yr. I have the Ford kit for the newer 22 to take back and install. No issue with the Bilstein set, worked great towing, no bounce at all!

I restore old 30-60’s drill presses so I have one I brought down to drop off in Idaho for a guy and 3 to take back that i’ve acquired down here. There is a method to my madnesS….I think. The wife Im not so sure she buys it. Lol
