I have seen older F150s with the rear tail lights that when viewed from the side had a halo line that outlined the fixture. My truck has what looks like the halo outline, but it doesn’t light up.

Does anyone know what years had this or if it is an aftermarket upgrade?

Not quite sure what you’re referring to. Pictures to help?

You would need a lariat and up trim for the led taillights with the outline you’re referring to.

Just like that JasonMT.

i am stunned that they would put different tail lights on different models. Seems like it would be more trouble than its worth.

Love it though. Maybe I can buy some and swap mine out. I got a 302A and at a 63k sticker price it doesn’t have it.

I have a RCSB XLT 301A with these lights.... BUT to be fair we build the conversion adapters to install these. My truck originally came with the mid level tail lights, halogen w/BLIS.. The 2nd pic was taken the day I picked it up from the dealership.

What is it you would like to know? I can tell you that depending on which tail lights your truck originally came with will determine the type of conversion adapters needed. Base halogen tail lights are fairly easy...halogen with BLIS requires a different adapter and are wired differently.

I would love to know the cost. Mine has the BLIS and 360 Camera Package as well as Max Towing. Not sure if any of that matters, but thought I would throw it in just in case.

It really does matter. Ford tried to get "creative" There is something called Dynamic Hitch Control...and this MUST be accounted for when building the adapters as trucks with the Dynamic Hitch Control have all the same circuits with the addition of a LIN data line ...and due to this, the wires are moved around. If your truck doesnt have the Dynamic Hitch Control then its a lil easier. The tail lights I have seen priced anywhere from about $1000/pair to just under $1300. Obviously with halogen tails w/BLIS you will need to swap your radar sensors to the new tail lights to avoid having to program the modules in the new led tail lights. Make sense?

Makes sense. Guess I will just have to get a Lariat next time. :)
