Just noticed this. Anyone have ideas how to buff this out? Not a scratch or crack but rather a scuff-mark of some kind. Thank you! -Andrea

I wouldn't touch it. Might make it worse.

I wouldn't be afraid of at least attempting a light NON abrasive approach just to see if it has a positive effect.
I agree with this. Research it and start with the finest polish for plastics you can find. I'd mask it off except a small test area with part of the abrasion and an eighth inch of non damaged area near the edge of red lens and make sure the solution isn't worse than the problem before trying the whole length of the scratch...

How about a headlight polish kit? They are made to polish scratches and haze out of the same plastic.

Meguiars makes a product called PlastX that you may want to consider.

mildest means first
HOT water and soap
then wd40 to see if its plastic on plastic or a real gouge

then the plastic polish route

Zooming in, I bet your right. Looks more like something was transfered onto the lens. If the soap doesn't get it, my money's on the WD.

Thanks Guys. Hot water and soap didn't work as I tried that before I posted on here. But, didn't know about WD40. I will try that or a non-abrasive polish. Thank you for your suggestions!! -Andrea

Get some light polish and try to rub it out with a soft towel. If it looks like it helped you can get some 2000 grit sandpaper. Use water and sand it in the direction of the scratch. Buffing should take it right out.

If it's paint transfer (or something else) that's ON the light, I've had great success with WD40 & Mr Clean Magic eraser.

The recipe above wont remove any scratches, or gouges that are IN the plastic.

I enter in exhibits A, B, and C below. Two before pics, and one after. A lot of scratches look really bad because of all the paint transfer. Once it's all removed, it looks a lot better. Now, the bent metal, and deep scratches still remain, but sort of blend in a lot better. Only thing used was WD40, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and lots of elbow grease.

Oh my gosh! That looks amazing! I had no idea about WD40 helping with this stuff. I have a magic eraser too. It is definitely ON the light .. not a scratch or gouge or anything with texture. Seems like a scuff but it didn't budge with soap, water, or microfiber cloth. Going to try the WD40 and magic eraser tomorrow before buying any polishes. I appreciate all of you helping this gal out!! ;)
