In preparation of a leveling kit, I recently purchased a set of wheels and tires.
Wheels: 20x9 with +18 offset
Tires: Generals ATx 305/55R20
Factory suspension
Wheel lug nut torque: 150ft/lb.
Balanced checked out by Discount Tire.
A couple of the wheels do have what I think is a lot of tape weight. One wheel has 4oz. and another has 6oz. The remaining two have 1 and 2 oz. each. I put the wheels with the most weight on the rear for now.
After I installed the package I went for a test drive. I don't expect it be the same as the factory setup (super smooth IMO), but I guess I'm not sure what to expect in terms of steering wheel feedback, drumming sounds in the cab, etc?
Any feedback from your experience is welcomed...
