I am very confused about Lariat Sport Appearance Package cost on 502A.

In the price book the Lariat Sports Package pricing is super confusing(to me anyway). On the 501A it is listed at $2205 MSRP but on next line there is 'Lariat Sport Package Net' with a MSRP of $1,455. Not sure if that is a reference to the discount available on page 1 if you combine it with COPILOT 360 Assist and save $1000($750 off appearance and $250 of copilot). But that seems to be the case and makes sense. ie you would pay $1455 MSRP and also get a $250 copilot discount.

Where I am confused is on the 502A package there is a line in price book with a $465 MSRP. But there is also a line on page 1. 'Equipment Group includes 863 Lariat Sport Appearance Pkg-$1500 discount. That would either imply to me that either
1)you can get appearance for 'free' a $2205 value
2)You save $1500 off which would imply a $750 cost ($2250 - $1500 discount).

It is 'free', $465 or something else? The package explanation doesn't make a ton of sense. Thanks

Lariat Sport Package -- w/ 501A. Invoice - $2,006 MSRP - $2,205
Lariat Sport Package Net Invoice - $1,324 MSRP - 1,455

Lariat Sport Package -- w/ 502A - Invoice $423 MSRP $465

Thanks. that just creates another question. I assume you are 502a? the package description lists the 20 wheels included - "20” six-spoke Dark Alloy painted". You have another line item in there for that.

Sport looks cheaper on a 502a because chrome package is included. Thus you are only paying the difference. Chrome package is not included on 501a so there is no difference to make up. I.e full price.

It is confusing. That part that seems off is the extra charge for those wheels on 502A. 502A base gets you to 20" rims so appearance just gets you to black. Looking at the specs for the 863 appearance package it seems those wheels are included in 502A but not 501A so it seems they should be included. Charging on 501A makes sense as 501A starts with 18" wheel

That being said I had a dealer spec out a 501A and a 502A for me with appearance and they did it the same as you.

well thats the other part I guess. 502a base doesn't get you 20s. I have 502a but mine is ordered with the 18" wheels since I am dumping them anyway. I see the sport gets you 20s on a sport appearance though so they are making up the difference somewhere I assume.

Are you a 2022 or 2023? On the 2023 the order book says 502A gets you '20" chrome-like PVD wheels'. Which are $1495 option if you come from lower trims. The black 20" rims are also a $1495 option. So it seems like on the 502A the black would be a like swap.

Mines 2022, I got the cheapest wheels they would let me since I have my own but I see what you mean. I never used the order guide, I also don't know why it takes them so long to put the builder up because it has all these checks and balances built in.

Agree the builder should be up. The order guide is really clear in that 502A you get 20" from the start and with the appearance you get 20" black. But my dealer cited the 2022 builder when I asked her to clarify as well and put a separate charge for the wheels @bfastr is also being asked to pay for these 20s" . So certainly some confusion in these early orders

A huge company like Ford and you can already pre order a 2023 but there’s no builder up on their website??? C’mon man!

I think you do get a 20", but it's a different wheel than what I want, so I have to pay for them.

@bfastr

You get the chrome look 20" in the 502A but when you add the sport appearance package you get the black 20" 64S wheel which is the one you are paying for. Where mine and your dealer seems to have made a mistake is that in 2023 when you go to 502A part of the expense gets you to 20 Chromes where it didn't do that in 2022. So you go from 18 to 20 in the time upgrade itself. When you add the appearance package you get a wheel that is the same price as the 20" chromes but it just black(nicer in my opinion). Build guide says it should be included but at least my dealer seems confused because she is writing the order based on 2022 builder and charging $1500 or wheel swap of two same price wheels. . Look here. It says those wheels are included in 502A and optional on mid. I think that $1500 should come off your bill.

Now maybe the guide book is wrong. but if it is right there is an overcharge.

yah, I see what you are saying. but then I suspect my dealer was working off the 2022 build as well. its pretty early in the process. I am sure that Ford will change, add or delete things I want anyway. but if the truck or build isnt what I am after I can walk away from the order.

I agree that ford should make the build info a little more obvious online or even at the dealer.

It’s interesting some of you are saying your dealers are using the 22 builder. When I called I was told they had an internal 23 builder they were using already. The first dealership said they were still getting used to the changes from the 22 packages.

Here is a 23 Lariat 502A with sport appearance and the black appearance package. Those getting the Lariat High with the BAP, you can switch to power running boards at $0 cost.
