So, in a previous post, I mentioned I hit a tire on the highway going about 70 mph and it broke the front air dam/valence (P/N ML34-17D997). It was hanging and when I got home, I was able to remove it just behind, inside the front wheel well. This leads me to believe I can install another one. I called the Ford dealer and they're saying it's 5 hours labor, plus the part, so it's looking like it'll be well over $500 because to install it, they need to remove the front bumper. Is this accurate? Why would they need to remove the front bumper if I was able to remove it (one side at least) without the removal of the bumper?
I know this improves gas mileage and I'd like to have it replaced. Thoughts on this?
