So, in a previous post, I mentioned I hit a tire on the highway going about 70 mph and it broke the front air dam/valence (P/N ML34-17D997). It was hanging and when I got home, I was able to remove it just behind, inside the front wheel well. This leads me to believe I can install another one. I called the Ford dealer and they're saying it's 5 hours labor, plus the part, so it's looking like it'll be well over $500 because to install it, they need to remove the front bumper. Is this accurate? Why would they need to remove the front bumper if I was able to remove it (one side at least) without the removal of the bumper?

I know this improves gas mileage and I'd like to have it replaced. Thoughts on this?

Looks very easy to replace in your driveway.

Yep super easy to replace and install just a few extra bolts/etc.
It makes me angry and sad that we have so many stealerships . Not all of them but a good majority are just shady

Probably lots of us in the same scenario, but I have removed mine and have the motors/dam available if you need the parts.

Awesome! I don't know (yet) if I'll need new motors...I'll let you know. What is your price for just the dam?

You could also just put the fixed piece in and not both. Still look stock but no deploying one

I was thinking that - not sure what gas mileage I'll lose (ever so slightly though).

I have mine sitting in the garage as a take off when I installed the Tremor skid plate. If you are in PNW you are welcome to it.

I appreciate that! I am in the exact opposite of you, unfortunately.
