I like to go back and refer to one of the initial charts, which states "Forecasted Available Retail 22MY Commodities."
I think Ford did a solid by not giving people false hope based on the limitations on commodities.
They let people know they were building a limited amount and which models they were building the most of.
Was destined to disappoint a lot of reservation holders, but we live in a different world.

I completely understand Ford is here to make money, this isn't a charity. If they wanted to do all Platinums for MY22 and MY23, that'd make sense and be fine by me, even if I was priced out.

Now with that said, you are sharing an internal document that says secret on it, this was not something Ford has publicly acknowledged. In fact, most of the negative sentiment here and elsewhere for the Lightning is based on the fact the Pro is basically bait and switch, since it was produced in such low numbers. If Ford came out and said "you have almost no shot at winning the Pro lottery, we aren't really making them," it would've ruined all the great press they consistently receive for their $40k truck.

Listened to Tim the fordvideoguy this evening on FB live.

Ford is stopping the emails about build weeks, they will only send one when the truck is scheduled for a build day onward through delivery phase

Tim suggests more customer interaction from the sales staff might be helpful, make a status call to the customer when the build day is set, they anticipate more in bound calls from us wanting to know when our truck is picked for scheduling, might be good to build positive customer interactions. [In my opinion make them earn the ADM I'm paying for]

Customer consideration to remove short supply options like [active park assist] from high option trims where it's included will help move order to a scheduling week, a partial credit is given since were still getting other parts of the system, possibly prep kits in some cases could be installed to make the truck upgradable back to it's intended specifications. Doing this will help accelerate the prospect of trucks seeing a build sooner than later or worst case shifted to a new MY when constraints are less of a challenge.

That might not be completely fair either. I ended up with a $40k truck - with no ADM. If that was not an option, I would’ve ended up with no lightning at all and stuck with the Rivian. it may be low volume numbers but you can’t really blame them for capturing market share where they wouldn’t have otherwise.

I know a guy who won $100k on a scratch off recently, he'd sound like a real piece of work if he walked around saying "I won $100k, why don't you go do it too?"

I’m not saying it’s not a marketing ploy. I’m saying it’s one that worked. I certainly would not have converted if the Pro was not available, nor would I have put a reservation down.

Also a 1/20 = 5%. It’s not like it’s 0.01% here. Those odds are significantly better than any lottery. And a 5% Pro production is better than no Pro at all.

For comparison, I believe I saw on here Ford produced and sold nearly 500,000 F-150s last year. At 15,000 F-150L for this year that’s 3% of all F-150s that will be electric. We’re not screaming that it’s a gimmick and they should just give up on the Lightning here.

Theres plenty of folks who missed out on a Pro, and plenty that missed out on the Lightning in general.

I don’t follow Ford enough to know the details of their sales figures. But I’d also be curious as to what their sales numbers are for their XL trim? If that comes in at say 30%, then sure I can get on board with the skewed numbers. But if their historical XL sales come in at 5% or less, I’d say their production numbers would be justified by their existing sales on the ICE counterpart.

What is secret about it. The slide was contained in the Order Playbook which is in a Sticky Thread.

GM started with the top of the line Hummer only and would release the lower trims each year and still took almost a year past expected delivery to deliver them.

I would very much like to put a stake in the heart of this thread and watch it die.

It has become so negative and really serves no useful purpose other than increase stress and drives some to drink or experiment with drugs excessively.

Instead, I would like to see a new thread started with something like "Real News on Lightning Scheduling". NOT - "Disappointment April".

Lately, I have tried hard to stay away from reading this thread even though I, too, wait breathlessly for my Production Date from my February 4th Order Date. Many earlier waves have waited even longer. But, really, what changes if Ford were to give you a date? Maybe you could make some better financial decisions but one should always plan for the worst and hope for the best.

Theoretically, during April, Waves 1-2 not scheduled should be scheduled for June. And the rest should be scheduled for July and August as we approach the middle of May. This would be a natural progression unless a World War or Rouge Asteroid ensues.

Some years ago, when the Native American Reservations first opened casinos I found myself becoming addicted to trying to make some easy cash-for-fun. Later, I got involved in early Yahoo Messaging and ICQ messaging. TOO INVOLVED! And I had to force myself to just walk away.

Folks...I think you can be reasonably sure either Ford or your Dealer will contact you when your Lightning is coming. Wanting a minute-to-minute update of every phase of the buying process is becoming a real addiction for some. Someone should offer those of you who are becoming addicted some sort of intervention (maybe there is a pill for that?).
