Anyone have an open '21 order and not have a VIN or build date?

As annoying as it would be to keep being rescheduled, you ordered after I did and mine finally just got built. So I'd take the constant rescheduling over the longer wait. I only got rescheduled once though, and then they moved it back to the original date. I genuinely wonder what it was that I ordered that made my waits longer considering we both ordered from Granger.

I agree, my post was just informational, not at all to complain. My 8 re-schedules were a bit of a roller-coaster, but ultimately I'm happy with 'only' a 5-1/2 month order>delivery timeline. Most of all, I'm relieved that by the pure luck of timing my truck was delivered exactly as ordered - I suffered no 'forced removals' that would have crushed me had my truck been on a later timeline.

IMO I got good advice from Chip at Granger when he suggested I avoid any options that I could easily address after purchase (I know I'll get a spray-in bedliner and I may add wheel well liners, but did not spec those on my build). I made no other 'compromises' on the 'dream truck' I wanted for my RV-ing adventures. Auto-stop-start was a 'take it or leave it' item for me from the get-go, so I ordered it removed to keep things as simple as possible from the start.

I never considered altering my original order, it was carefully considered and was THE truck I wanted. After that there was nothing that either Granger or I had any control over, I just got lucky (and I'm very thankful).

I wish Chip had given me that info! If the damn wheel well liners and spray in bed liner were the delay that cost me the active park assist that's quite frustrating. Not that I really care about the active park assist, as I doubt I'd ever use it. But still, would have paid $300 to keep it for the coolness of it (or really, I think $300 was a laughable reduction in MSRP from Ford for deleting it).

I didn't mean to imply you were complaining. I'm just getting antsy as I really wasn't expecting quite this much of a delay and have needs for the truck. I think it's built now, I just hope there aren't things delaying it being shipped, and that shipping doesn't take forever. Fingers crossed!

In fairness, you mentioned you ordered before I did - the situation may well not have been known to Chip at that time, the situation as far as constraints and delays has certainly evolved a lot both before and after I placed my order.

IMO from following Granger threads on this forum that dealership does a heck of a job trying to stay on top of the situation, which is totally beyond their control, and passing what they know on to their customers.

But yes (and I know you realize this), even with that, folks are getting caught in various delays, holds, and 'forced removals' - totally beyond Granger's or any dealer's control.

I wish you the best of luck getting your truck as soon as possible.
