Hey everyone,

I thought I'd share some pics/measurements of the ground clearances on certain areas of the 2021 trucks with a leveling kit. I've looked online countless times to find relevant information regarding some of these measurements, whether it's for our F150s or other vehicles. So I thought I'd put together a list of measurements that could help some people out when trying to plan out mods or just looking to figure out what they can confidently climb over when off roading.

So first of lets start with the specs of the truck. It's a 2021 King Ranch in antimatter blue, screw with the 6.5' bed, and the 5.0 ? . So I've got a motofab 2.5" front leveling kit, and a tuff country add a leaf in the rear (which adds about 2.5" of lift in the rear). As for tires I got Toyo Open Country ATIII 295/65R20 (true 35") on the factory King Ranch rim. I've got on a shit ton of off road lights all the way around the truck, and a winch in the front of the truck (and one in the rear which is being bolted in this weekend).

So now for the measurements of everything.

Ground clearance at:
The rear pumpkin - 10 1/2"
Rear shock mount - 10 1/2"
Front lift point of the frame - 15"
Transmission Crossmember - 14 1/4"
Transfer Case skid plate - 13 1/4"
Rear frame/Gas tank skid plate - 16"
Front cross member/ Lower control arm mount - 13 1/2"
Front cross member - 15"
Front cross member skid plate - 13"

Other reference points:
Front lip (modified) - 16 3/8"
Front tow hook - 19 1/4"
Front fender - 41 1/4'
Rear fender - 43"

Do you have your before measurements? I just did a Coilover suspension lift and forgot to get my before measurements... Guess I was a little to excited to break out my tools :)

I just have measurements of the wheel opening for the before and after. No frame or pumpkin measurements.

It's a cheapo winch from princess auto. Picked it up for 200$. One for the front. One for the rear. Then I fabed up the license plate flip up bracket.

Yeah, I am trying to determine my actual lift after installing a new Coilover setup. I got a little too excited and installed everything and realized I never got my starting measurements to be able to quantify the effective lift. Good looking rig btw! That license plate bracket is pretty slick!

I kinda did the same thing initially, but I did try to remember to get the before and after measurements from the center of the fenders so I could ensure I had the proper rake (to match factory) so I didn't have to have the ADAS camera recalibrated.
So here's my pre-level measurements.
DF- 38 3/4"
PF - 39"
DR - 40 1/2"
PR - 40 3/8"

Is there any difference in measurement from ground to wheel well on your driver rear and passenger rear? I’m getting about a .5” difference, unsure if that is normal.

Ya I have about 1/4" and 3/8" difference from the front driver/passenger, and rear driver/passenger.
Now there are multiple factors too.
Mainly full or half tank of gas, and cargo in the bed or cab.
As well as how broken in the suspension is. It'll probably settle over time with more use in the bed.

(I also did did before and after measurements and the truck always had about a 1/4" lean to one side.)

Thanks! Sounds like it’s normal then. I was worried something was wrong with the suspension after the level kit install.

Can you send me some photos and info on how you mounted up that winch?!
Sure, so bought a winch mounting plate from Princess Auto (canadian version of harbor freight) and then used an adjustable class IV trailer hitch I had laying around, then married the two with "welds from Hell" as my dad says. So first off I got some rough measurements of the opening and positioning of the winch/roller fairlead, then started to build my mount. I did have the plastic license plate holder where I wanted the winch so I cut it out of the bumper then smoothed it out so it's not noticeable. Then to mount the winch to the frame of the truck I used the holes for the plow mount. So either you can buy the nut insert from ford for the plow option, or just build your own like I did. I just carefully fished grade8 1/2" bolts (with lock washers) through the opening and then with my dad giving me a hand lining up the bolts coming through the frame to the winch Mount. You can use a floor jack to do this if you're alone. But I just muscled it in there. Then just tightened it all down with a torque wrench to make sure these suckers ain't going anywhere. The as for the wiring of it, I fished the controller into the cab. For that I spliced the main connection of the winch solenoid and extended the cable to reach into the cab. And now all I have to do is plug the winch controller into the outlet here In the cab. So I don't have to open the hood or anything. And it keeps you safe incase a line snaps.

Link to license plate bracket? The OEM one has clips which don't allow for Plate Covers.

I built this bracket out of 3/4" flat stock steel. Used some plastic washers on the sides to allow movement, so it won't bind when flipping it up and down. It's also has a slight bend (for tension) in it to allow it to stay flipped up when the winch is in use. Then just used some 1/4" nuts and bolts to fasten the plate together. And it's all fastened to the winch fairlead.
