Anyone have experienced towing occasionally on 20’s with 3.31’s? Just leased a 21’. Slim pickings. Wanted 3.55 but couldn’t find one. Towing about 3800lbs. Not sure if the bigger tire will make it a dog.

With what you are saying your truck will yank the hitch off your trailer. Plenty of power for 3800#

If you have the standard tow package, you are good up until 11,000 pounds. Max tow is, I believe, 14,000 pounds. Even with out any tow packages at all I don't think 3,800 pounds is a problem. I think Explorers do at least that with the 3.5?

I know it will tow. Was wondering the difference in the 3.55 to 3.31. This truck doesn’t have the acceleration. So with a load I was curious how it would respond.

I towed a 277cc Cobia with my Ram Limited with 3.21's and an 8 sp. No big deal in Michigan. I also towed an 8,000 lb enclosed car trailer with it from Florida and Michigan a couple of times.
You've got a 10sp in the F150. The only difference will be you might run down the road in 7th or 8th instead 8th or 9th with 3.55's
