  1. Will the % rate of conversions during a given wave improve the chances for those further down the list?

I suppose there's also a distinction between those who formally cancel their reservation vs those who just let the invite lapse.
  2. Will the % rate of conversions during a given wave improve the chances for those further down the list?

How would people failing to convert their reservation as part of their assigned wave impact those further down the list? My dealer confirmed that there are 96 people ahead on their reservations list They got one allocation as part of wave 1 getting 15 allocations in wave 2 Hypothetically...
  3. Lightning WAVE 2 Emails Coming 1/19 For Ordering on 1/20 – Per Ford Customer Service

Finally got some insight from my dealer... it's not happy news . I am number 97 out of 295 reservations with my dealership. This is a super high volume souther California dealer. They were allotted one order out of wave 1. She told me that in wave 2 they will be alloted 15 orders. The way...
  4. Wave 1 Lightning invitation email thread [Update: Emails AFTER 5PM ET]

How does the process unfold if the dealer did not send in a list? I suspect that my dealer is in this boat because when i speak to them they just have this blanket answer of "we dont know anything, you just have to wait until Ford send you your invite to order". Does it just mean that Ford will...
  5. Ordered 2022 Lightning - My Experience

Update - bubble was burst almost immediately lol. Salesman contacted me back to warn me that certain add-ons would delay delivery time (specifically spray on bedliner) which i appreciated... but then this exchange broke out: Salesman: Oh and i discussed with the lady who manages our order...
  6. Ordered 2022 Lightning - My Experience

Potentially interesting turn of events today. Email inquiries to my dealer have been totally ignored, so today i decide to phone in a call. Got on the phone with Internet Sales. Gentleman shared that there had been an internal sales meeting today. "We were told that while order banks did open on...
  7. Seemingly inexpensive NEMA 14/50 option may have just gotten pretty expensive afterall

My only other EV has been a 2014 Leaf which did come with a mobile charger, but it ran strictly off normal household 110. In that scenario, i totally understand the need to upgrade to a higher output unit. However the Ford Mobile charger maxes out at 32amps i believe. So i'm confused why...
  8. Thoughts on adding seat heaters to XLT (standard)

Pro or XLT 311A are pretty much my only two options given my budget constraints. I'm leaning towards XLT, mostly because the consensus seems to be that Pro's will be virtually impossible to get for normal consumers. But also, i'm one of those folks who values fit and finish, and this will be a...
  9. Seemingly inexpensive NEMA 14/50 option may have just gotten pretty expensive afterall

Well, the Ford mobile charger is included free with the vehicle, so i saw no reason to buy something different.
  10. XLT with ER starts at $74,169 glitch ?!?

Yikes, well things just got complicated. I've been under the strong impression for the last several months that i'd be pulling the trigger on an ER XLT, but I'm also in the keep it under $60K camp though... so here we go, back to the drawing board! Hmm... Pro? ... SR XLT? Both would be ok i...
  11. List: F-150 Lightning dealers that do / don't apply ADM (price markup)

Email communication with Cerritos has been all but impossible, but the one response I did get confirmed no dealer markup. Changing reservation was pretty easy. You just contact Ford Customer Service and a rep will do it while you’re on the phone.
  12. Seemingly inexpensive NEMA 14/50 option may have just gotten pretty expensive afterall

So the Ford Mobile charger tops out at 32 amps i believe. Why would you spend the extra money for only 8 amps? Does that add up to a meaningful decrease in charge time?
  13. F-150 Lightning order numbers don’t include fleet buyers, which means it’ll be sold out for a long time

I have a hard time imagining that there are "good deals" out there on used vehicles unless you're buying privately (and from someone who doesn't know the current market). I just sold my 2019 CRV for more than i paid for it when we bought it new.
  14. F-150 Lightning order numbers don’t include fleet buyers, which means it’ll be sold out for a long time

I'm very new to this world of reservations / ordering vehicles and my expectations were definitely naive. I actually sold one of our two daily drivers in early October in anticipation of being able to order my Lightning and under the assumption that i'd take delivery of it in a reasonable amount...
  15. List: F-150 Lightning dealers that do / don't apply ADM (price markup)

I didn't do my homework initially and reserved at Huntington Beach Ford in California (closest dealer to my home). After hearing some horror stories from friends that had visited them i did some digging. Horrible review for various reasons, but also comments from Bronco pre-order victims who ran...
  16. Seemingly inexpensive NEMA 14/50 option may have just gotten pretty expensive afterall

Yep, that's a possibility for sure. It's metal clad romex so even if stapled i'm hoping we might be able to pull it still (cut the cladding and pull the wire). Fortunately, my father in law spent several years as an electricians apprentice, so i'm in good hands.
  17. Seemingly inexpensive NEMA 14/50 option may have just gotten pretty expensive afterall

I may have found a good compromise. I did confirm that the 240v leg running to my garage is in fact 30amp / 10g wire (bummer). However when i pulled the cover of the breaker panel I was reminded that a year or so ago we replaced an electric range (with a gas one) which had a dedicated 40amp...
  18. Seemingly inexpensive NEMA 14/50 option may have just gotten pretty expensive afterall

I agree, and for those who asked about my driving patters… good point. My daily commute will typically be between 20-30 miles. So for an average day I’m not concerned at all about charge rates. However there will be a handful of times each month where I will have to do a 100-150 road trip and...
  19. Seemingly inexpensive NEMA 14/50 option may have just gotten pretty expensive afterall

Yeah without having to pull new wire i'm going to be capped at 30amps. So that would be ok for a 14/15 outlet + the Ford mobile charger? Is there recommendation of a 50amp breaker assuming that other appliances may draw from that same run?
  20. Seemingly inexpensive NEMA 14/50 option may have just gotten pretty expensive afterall

Have spent the last few days doing research on what the best charging option would be for my home. Was feeling pretty good about the NEMA 14/50 + Ford Mobile Charger option. Already have a run of 240v in my garage and not being used by anything (y) 240v leg ends essentially in the exact...
