We just got our hands on the new Diode Dynamics Elite Max Headlights and Elite Fog Lights for our 2023 XLT yesterday. Wasted no time installing them. These things are KILLER! We still need to test the output but they should be a lot brighter over stock. They have dual LED Projectors on each side that operate as lows. When you switch to high beams a solenoid flips up and 1 set of projectors aims higher. Not only that, but because we have the Elite Max headlights, one of the SSC2 lights within the housing also activates.
The Elite Max also have the 3x SSC2 lights you see on each side. These are built different then the regular SSC2 from what Diode Dynamics tells me and are designed for the Elite Max. There is a separate switch included (although we're going to wire it to a switch panel) that when activated will turn all 3 SSC2 (per side) on. Not only that, but if you have the Elite Fog Lights (like we do) the fog lights also turn on as well (even if they were off).
The Elite Fogs and Elite Headlights actually TALK to each other. They do a startup dance sequence and the animation flows through both sets seamlessly. They look a lot cleaner and throw a bit more light over the factory.
The biggest thing we found was just HOW they work and WHAT you can do. Diode Dynamics spent a lot of time building up their programming system (they have several patents on this as well). You can actually do a lot of different things like change the White DRL to Amber (which is what we did). Have them white and amber. You can have the start sequence play or not. You can also do "show mode" which basically goes through a little "show" sequence (good if you're at a car show and want to show off).
Can't wait to test these at night but so far everybody at the shop here loves the look of them. Quality seems amazing and they are assembled right here in the USA (designed here in the USA, assembled in the USA... Diode actually has some videos on their youtube page of the process).
We have the Morimoto XBG Grill for those curious about our grill. It has an upper and lower amber bar BUT we decided to turn off the lower bar (since it didn't line up with anything).
Here are some photos we just took today. I believe these are the first ones out in the wild and installed so we were excited to get you guys some photos.
