this morning on way to ford to get battery checked, etc the notice that 6.8 was ready to install
so i told the service manager to ignore it and i would update at home tonight

well battery failed....yup
and they had to replace it and do the recall for axle wiring
so he comes out and say we downloaded 6.8 and there is a 3 hr update pending
so we are going to do it.???? i said hesitantly yes
we shall see what gets afu or still works when i get it back

6.8 rescheduled for 8 pm
ipma reprogramming did not have to be done for battery stuff, which is good as i didnt want to have to re program my forscan changes
service manager winked at trying to get super duty ipma data ,, he said its coming......but no date on his end either
he said he looked at my forscan changes and left them alone, and made sure his f150 was same same, as built he says.....nope ford didnt build it like that.

gained 27 miles dte from when i dropped her off
that quickly disappeared in about 10 miles at 70
i am blessed to have a dealer service area that have f f150s and have a sense of lets do good

no they told me they were doing the IPMA...and i asked if it was the new update? like a dummy i was UNCLEAR
the tech was going to do the IPMA update to fix the battery charge system ..that was explained when i picked it up. that they didnt need to do it as the truck worked perfect once a GOOD battery was placed in service

when they tol me 3 to 4 hrs, it was because the tech was unsure as to why the 2nd battery took a powder and was afraid the truck would not do the charge correctly with new battery,
i knew before i left the BMS stuff was working, the fan on 5 for 30 seconds works very well
at stimulating it

so i asked when i picked it up if he had done the super duty upcoming ipma for turn signal with trailer bit. HE WINKED and said its coming, but he doe snot have the files yet.
of course i smartly said you have 2 2024 super duties on lot, one limited and one lariat 450...can you download it for me.

so now at 8 pm, 6.8 is to load, and we wait for the new ipma stuff that we are eagerly awaiting.

my service writers both have 150s and an expedition
he copied screen shot my new as built s before the start and confirmed they were still good
plus he uses forscan to change his truck and exp
they are not as fwd thinking as we are, but he does like the glare free and the some of the other things
he was skeptical about glare free, it took a few days to sell him and few days of driving in dark to get to work ad was sold

yes i am happy these 2 guys are user friendly

Well, vehicle history shows an IPMA update was done today and it took them 48 minutes.

wonder what that was ? only thing that was screwy was the eng temp had the oil pressure gauge next to it
vice eng temp, then trans temp, then over on right the boost gauge then fuel level
all my phone stuff worked including pandora,
what grabbed my eye 1st was DTE was higher than when i arrived
then it settled down to pretty close to what it was at arrival, but still higher than when i arrived
they did do a drive down the street to verify lane camera and 360 stuff was working. not sure if it was required?
did it indicate any thing like what you have for your truck?
i dont have an invoice yet, as it was all warranty.
i will get it tuesday

Yes, it is the same IPMA software that I have. No calibration was required when I did mine.

my battery was recently replaced too under warranty.
these OEM batteries sure do suck d*ck. i haven't had any electrical gremlins since the battery replacement thank goodness.

i think it got really low right before the 3 days of below 9 f and it couldnt recover, even after being charged up
