Those are fairly easy to add back in as well from what I understand. Other items to consider are your heated steering wheel, 18 speaker B&O unleashed (i think the plattys had those stock) etc. I don't know what the plattys came with stock as they were out of my price range when I was searching the used market.

Looks like its decently equipped though! Not sure I would make the trade though as it does appear to be a downgrade overall, but only you can make that decision.
I do like the heated steering wheel as I'm midwest and it's nice in the recently -15 days! But this truck has that. The only thing is doesn't have is the BO Unleashed....but the 21 I have has the 18 speaker and it kind of sucks, it's not loud at all. I'm not much of an audiophile IMO. I always thought the Sony System in my 2015 lariat was quite good.

I like the power running boards for looks,, I hate trucks with huge extended running boards always sticking out like training wheels. although I do think Ford could have done better with these. the AMP Research are much quieter/faster. and tuck up better

Personally, not a fan of the Atlas blue....but that's a phenomenal deal. I would jump on it.

Ah. I thought that was a separate add.

The B&O-U wakes up when you have decent source material going to it. I use apple music lossless with wired carplay and I think the B&O is solid. The B&O does not sound good with sirius, non HD radio, and music played over bluetooth though.

Yup, that truck was built late enough to have the heated steering wheel. So was mine. Many 2023s lost it, but not all.

I have the standard 8-speaker B&O and it's okay. I haven't heard the unleashed - I wanted it, but couldn't find a truck that had it plus all my non-negotiables. My understanding is they share a flaw in that they're very center-channel heavy, though mine seems to have improved quite a bit in that area and there's a suspicion that a DSP or ACM is what changes that behavior.

This was the first vehicle I had with auto-running boards. I hate the obnoxious noise you get with them every time you leave somewhere, 5 months in and it still startles me sometimes. But I understand their utility if you are taking this off road. I also think that they're slow...not in general, just for me. Half the time I don't even use them as I'm jumping out of the truck before their down and taking off. But I'm an impatient person in general.
The more you talk about things you wouldnt mind being without, the more i think you're mind is set. again, the Lariat is a very well equipped trim. the window sticker shows that. i think the regular B&O will be fine for you. sounds like auto running boards arent your thing, you dont use massage seats (send those my way though ;))at this point you're getting a darn good deal on the 2023 in the color you want with options that you seem to be fine with. i see this as a done deal. though, i dont think that Atlas Blue has a heated steering wheel but i dont see it shown as a deletion. IF it doesnt have it, it can be added failry easily. If i could vote i'd say DO IT

oh, just an aside...i FEEL you on the whole color thing...Black was NOT my first, second or third color choice. I wanted Rapid Red and if not that, Star White Tri Coat Metallic and if not that, Space White. Apparently NO FORD DEALER had Rapid Red with 157" wheelbase past 501A. All the Star Whites had chrome and all the Space Whites were short bed.
i "settled" on black...there are days that i get the itch like you but i have a no deletion 2022 Lariat with almost every option. so i either settle for a neutered F150 in my color choice or what i got haha

Are there any upgrades or improvements from 2021 to 2023?
No, but there are deletes. The 502a is a much different truck than the 501. The 501 has the quad beam LED headlights and the 8" dash (I personally prefer it to the all-digital 12" as it's simply being used to render digital analog gauges).

Additionally the 501 doesn't come with adaptive cruise / lane centering without paying more for the copilot assist 2.0 package (can be added for ~$400, $350 cheaper than the 750 option). The 502 is closer to the platinum whereas the 501 is closer to a 302 XLT sans the seats and brown accents everywhere. If you're a tinkerer and would rather do some upgrades yourself, the 501 assuming you're getting the ~$5k price break may be a better option.

Your 21 has the temps on the HVAC knobs and it also has the illuminated cup holders. These were eliminated in 22. These are nits but just wanted you to be aware. Adding the bed camera should be easy for a 502a. The harness is already there, I just think you need the new light assembly with camera. There is a thread on that somewhere here but I'm too lazy to look for it. I think your truck also has ventilated rear seats or am I mistaken? The 502A only has heated rear seats.

A platinum (well equipped) to a Lariat is not an upgrade, unless you really miss the color blue (seems like it). The best way to compare is to post both window stickers.

Some items were deleted on the 2023s like heated steering wheels.
I have a 2023 lariat, which has the heated steering wheel. Believe me, I live in Canada ;)

I have a 2023 Lariat 502a and it has front heated/cooled seat and back heated seats.

If you're not a fan of the power running boards, deleting them does gain you back a chunk of payload, which is definitely a plus.
And 100% agreed on black...I'd never get a black vehicle for all the reasons mentioned. For that matter, I wish more came with gray interior options instead of black.

Um yeah, so does mine. I figured everyone knew the Lariat 502 has ventilated/heated fronts. I'm talking the difference between the rear heat only and his truck which may have ventilated and heat in the rear.

To my knowledge, rear seats can only be heated, not ventilated.

The fixed running boards are what prevent door dings from other cars,
