The OEM charger will cook the battery and hardly ever work. Avoid.
I've wondered if the inside of the OEM one could be gutted and replaced with a magsafe one, so that it looks OEM but actually functions correctly.

I wondered the same thing

Does anyone know of a fused switched power location (or a t-harness) that could be used for the Boost Auto unit? I'm not a fan of wire taps, but their unit seems like a good solution otherwise.

Just swinging back to say that even without a case the oem one doesn’t work great. Seems to really need to be centered on the pad and even then you can watch it start and stop in CarPlay. Eventually it takes hold and remains charging though little better than with a case.

I’m sure some of it comes from the camera bump not allowing it to lay flat.

I like some of those MagSafe options, I just can’t stand the wires going all over.

I've got this offroam x peak setup and love it. I was going to go for a pad as well but I couldn't get behind not seeing the turn-by-turn in front of me. Map is on large display, turn-by-turn on phone right there. It has yet to get in my way or fail me.

I have this as well. It's the optimal solution IMO - you never have to look down to glance at the phone and can interact with minimal driving interference.

OEM Charger can be added, I just added it to mine last week. You need to run one wire to the BCM at the passenger kick panel and the other 4 wires can be spliced into the APIM harness behind the HVAC controls. You need to the charger, bracket, Plastic Bin, and the Mat to make it work. I found the parts I needed from a wrecker.

I use a quad lock vent mount and put it on the right hand side vent on the second from the bottom louver and the bottom of it rests on the knob under it. I also use a 25 amp power point car charger in the console and run the wire out. Its a bit more expensive but i also use the same system on my quad and my mountain bike. If you keep an eye on it, they come on sale at times like fathers day, labor day, and black Friday for sure. Its also a very secure system and keeps my phone up and at eye level without cluttering up my lower console.

I also use a Quad Lock mount for my phone as I have the system on my Goldwing. I bought the dash mount from BuiltRight Industries and mounted a ball mount with an arm on it and then the other end has a wireless charging head on it. That is currently plugged in down in the cubby in the USB port. I'm trying to decide where to run the power and I think I'm going to mount a USB plug in the panel behind the mount. This is the most secure mount I have found and I also have a wireless charging head on my bike. I also have a Mag case on my phone so that I can use a mag charger if needed. Yes, they are more expensive, but they are probably the most secure mounts I have seen. I'll post a pic when I can get one of the mount setup.

I have the OEM wireless charger, and got frustrated by it making the phone so hot, and it being relatively difficult to reach (and impossible to see if needed).

I just installed this same Offroam magnetic charger and love it.

I just got a rokform case, and I will say it works better on the oem charger but only slightly. But then again on my magsafe charger at home it appears to be slightly worse? Then again thats an older magsafe charger as well.

I may look into a mount and see if I can't hide a wire somewhere. Maybe the wifes android will work better on the oem spot haha.
