It has a built in battery so it will continue charging your phone after you turn off the truck. The power bank gets (slowly) charged from the USB in the cubby (No fast charging? Come on, Ford).

As you can see, the power bank fits nicely. It also has a rubberized ring on the top that grips your phone.

Any issues with your phone sliding off the battery while turning or breaking?

None yet, but I also haven't had to make any abrupt maneuvers since installing this setup.

Oooo ... I like that. And it looks like there is plenty of space below the removable tray. I wonder if that gap is for the OEM wireless charger available on higher trims.

Now if there was just a higher wattage power supply in the cubby ☹

thats what everyone is missing. Wireless charging is slow, and it IS REALLY SLOW when you aren’t using 3amp plugs, so after market won’t be any good except the battery type. Maybe the wiring is under there, but would require cutting.

I like this a lot, on my other Anker charger I have to press the power button to start the charging once I plug it in. Does this one require that or does it sense once you drop the phone on? Any more feedback after longer use?

When I’m using my wireless charger in the truck, I’m not necessarily looking to charge quickly, but rather maintain the battery I’m using while doing things like using Apple Maps or Apple Music. My goal is to stop the battery drain from CarPlay, and for that I’ve found that the wireless charger I’ve installed works quite well.

I am shocked the old USB ports under there put out enough power to support wireless charging at any decent rate. The new USB-C on the '21 should be great for that solution though!
Has anyone found specs on what wattage the USB-C puts out?

Thanks. Just realizing the Lariat I have on order *does not* have wireless charging. Disappointing but nowhere near a deal breaker. (First time saying this... c'mon, Ford)
