Aquapel / Trico View is superior to RainX, and lasts much longer. 12-18 months for me in California.
In a pinch a potato works.

Cut it in half and rub it on the windshield. The starch In the potato repels water for a while.

Honestly it's my first f-150. I was excited to see what the hype was all about. I think I'll goto GM or Chevy next time.

You could unload your new F150 very easily these days. So no reason to wait if you want a Chevy. :)

You say that...but I don't think it's legal to sell a truck that can't pass a safety inspection. Even if it is legal, it would require a pretty discount - especially since Ford wont even commit to a date that the recalled part will be available.

Ford got around that by selling it and then waiting for it to fail after just 4 months. Now I'm stuck writing a check to Ford Financial every month while driving a Ford Focus.

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2022 F-150 hybrid, platinum. I took delivery in December. The wipers were jumping around for a while and quit working completely in the middle of a rain storm on 495 - not ideal. I ended up pulling over until the rain passed and then took it to the dealership. Obviously, there is a recall on the wiper motor and apparently, I experienced the reason why there is a recall on the wiper motor. Unfortunately, despite the fact that the recall happened 2-3 months ago, Ford still has not made the replacement part available to the dealership. Additionally, they are not making old wiper motor available to dealerships. Accordingly, I'm stuck and my truck is stuck undriveable with no timetable for when the new part will be made available.

The dealership has given me a loaner car. The loaner is a 2019 Ford Focus with 25,000 miles on it. I'm obviously frustrated because a Ford Focus does not replace a brand new F-150 platinum with less than 2000 miles on it. Essentially they are replacing a $80,000 truck with a $10,000 car and that doesn't even address the issue that I need my truck for work (Ford focus isn't so great at hauling lumber).

Any suggestions? I'm sure Lemon Laws would apply here but I don't imagine there are any trucks lying around to replace this one and a buy-back would unlikely be for the actual value of the car, nor would it solve my problem of not having a truck to drive. What I really want is a working truck.

Any help would be appreciated. TIA

Doug
Did you get it fixed yet? I'm having the same issue. Had the truck for 2 weeks. 2022 F150 King Ranch

Adding on to this thread. My 2022 F-150 ordered on11/16 got delivered to the dealer on 8/8. They did the PDI yesterday and found it doesn’t have wiper motors. The part is on back order with no ETA.

The wrinkle here is that price protection on the order is for 30 days from when the truck reaches the dealer, not 30 days from when it passes PDI.

So I’m in this situation where the truck can’t pass PDI without the motor. There is no ETA on the motor.

If they can’t get the part and install it by 9/8, the price protection expires without me even having the opportunity to buy this truck. Or I buy it and start making payments but can’t take delivery.

What the hell kind of bullshit is this?

As ridiculous as that situation is, I still like the idea of the truck sitting at the dealership rather than out in a field somewhere out of site.

It’s the Total Bullshit kind of bullshit!

If it were the dealership that I got my truck from; I wouldn’t put it past them having snagged the wiper motor from my truck for one of their own trucks or a buddy and even a customer who bribed them to skip the backorder line!

Your situation is so ridiculous that you could probably call around to the local news stations as they love that kind of silly nonsense for slow newsday fluff pieces.

One of the things that I noticed is that Ford’s Motorcraft branded wiper motor wasn’t on backorder.

Try to get all of your interactions with the dealership through email, text or in writing.

Good Luck!

Exactly, then the field mice go to town on the soy based wire insulation and now not only does the truck need a wiper motor but also fixing immediate wiring harness issues as well as potential hidden problems after the warranty is out.

Yes but if I can’t take delivery in that 30 day window I lose price protection. I ordered on 11/16. Prices are way up since then.

Have you tried to sit down with the dealership to talk this out. If you go in reasonable you may be able to work something out. It is not your fault and if you do still want this truck, then make sure you get any and all options presented to you from the dealership.

IMHO if I was given no alternative, and I wanted the truck and nothing else was wrong with it, I would bite the bullet and buy it. Making payments on something that is not in your driveway sucks but you will be a month or two closer to paying it off in the long run. Good luck with it.

Yup they gave me that option. I’m asking them to escalate this with Ford, but ultimately I see myself buying it if I can use it while waiting for the wiper parts.

What I call BS is your truck arrived at the dealership on 8 August and they didn’t do a PDI until 16 August. Then they discover that it came from Ford with a missing wiper motor. No way. If that truck came in on 8 August you should have had it in your possession NLT the 10th. Something’s not right.

I got a text from my dealership the moment my truck was spotted on the transport truck. Within an hour I got a picture of them doing the PDI in a service bay.
I was driving it a few hours later.

This is not a little dealership, but rather one of those mega multi-brand dealerships

I can see a dealership like Granger not being able to guarantee same-day PDI, but there aren't a lot of Grangers.

Yea, it would be really sad to discover a part-Rob off a special order truck. The few dealerships willing to part-rob usually are robbing from inventory to get a special order customer's truck fixed. Not the other way around.

In their defense they received 35 trucks at the same time and had a lot of trucks to work through. I'm somewhat annoyed at how long they did to get around to my truck though, especially since they know its one of the more delayed deliveries in the orders they have. They could have done a better job prioritizing orders that had been open for longer (I ordered on 11/16).

I stand corrected if they received 35 special order vehicles simultaneously.
