I will check this thread and the comma.ai site regularly. I am totally bummed. I had a comma 3x on my 21 Powerboost and I loved it. I traded 21 in for a 24 Powerboost. I plugged it in and I started getting a ton of ADAS errors. They went away but there is a cruise error.
I am going to hold onto the 3x for at least a short time. Ugggggghhhh, i'm such a dumbass. Now I want my 21 back. lol
I don't see it happening. I'd expect it to be a modern encryption scheme due to why it came about. Even if they do find a way to crack it, ford lawyers will be on them in short order. Barring some legislation creating a trusted partner capability whereby they create a module that's allowed to MITM the relevant modules via an encryption certificate, it's EOL for being ported to new vehicles with encrypted busses.
Zero chance ford does this on their own given it allows owners to opt out of their overpriced/under delivering paid options.
