Why no skid plate for 4x4 Hybrid with CCD?

While ordering my 2021 Platinum Hybrid 4x4 with Continuously Controlled Dampers (CCD) I was forced to accept a delete on the skid plate. Why is this vital piece deleted? Is it because the shocks have an electrical connection up top? Makes no sense, especially in snow conditions.

I could be off base, but I think skid plates are part of the FX4 package which is removed once CCD is clicked.

This might not apply, but when I ordered my XLT you couldn't order skid plates separately, only on fleet sales. Had to get FX4 to get oem plates. So I skipped it and ordered RCI plates from Stage3.

The factory skid plates are flimsy anyway. Grab yourself something after market if you need them.

Thanks and I figured I would have to order aftermarket. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a way around this restriction.

Well , there is a way around it but you have to buy the truck in Canada. No problem adding them to my KR as a separate option. They are not really very strong in my opinion. But not expected for only a 120 dollar option.

My 2021 Lariat FX4 PowerBoost is missing the front skid plate as well so wondering if this is related to having the extra electric motor?

Well a few hours on what passes for Chat at Ford.com and the bottom line is Gov and Fleet users can order CCD with skid plates. Just not us Peons who pony up $70,000+ US for a new truck.
They say this decision comes from "professional advisers" in third-party companies who obviously don't know anything about how a truck gets used. This kind of herd thinking will sink a good company.
