Finally got mine on Wednesday. It has been a blast to drive and I am curious what I will end up with an average for fuel economy. getting 24 mpg in the first 250 miles, but I am also using the ECO guidance to see what I can get too. I think in a flat place (I live in the mountains and drive a river valley floor but have to climb hills) I don't think 29 mpg will be out of the question.
I drove a 3.0 Power Stroke for the first time Monday.

Im sold. That thing had power across the spectrum. I did not push it because the engine had about 30 miles on it, but the power is there above 70 mph. I could tell that this motor is no sluggish dog.

One reason a person buys a diesel is not just to pull or haul something heavy, but to get a lot more benefits from that purchase. Yes the engine will cost more, and also to maintain. However it will last alot longer then most gas engines and use less fuel to do the same job. They're also alot cleaner and quieter then years past.

Just looked at the B&P, shows the diesel is:

$4,995 on XL & XLT SuperCab & SuperCrew. Not available on Reg Cab

Lariat $3,800

KR & Plat. $3,000

I asked my salesman about the increase in price for the diesel engine and he said that it could be due to availability and short supply on parts for the engine.

My sister does corporate staffing and knows high tech folks like Carter has liver pills.

FWIW, a tech guy told her that China quit making chips for cars and focused on video games and crap like that because everyone was staying home and car sales were slow.

Where did you see that? The B&P still shows it as a $3000 option.
Could be lower in your zip code.

Someone else mentioned that Ford was trying to get 1st quarter numbers up for shareholders. That could be the reason for the $2000 jump in my area.

The Ford CEO should have secured the parts last year. Particularly with Covid.

Ford knew that they were going to build hundreds of thousands of 2021 trucks regardless.

I drove a 3.0 SuperCrew Lariat 5.5 box this morning.

Drove down a water plant road and there was a "no trespassing" sign. Had to turn it around in the road with curbs. 3 point turn no problem and much easier to maneuver than the SuperCrew 6.5 box. Im so used to a 145' wheelbase. Driving no highway, mix of hills and level terrain and fuel mileage was a consistent 20 mpg on the screen. The Drivers door was screwed up and you had to slam to close. I had a truck like that and the drivers door never was right. The floor shifter was not crisp at all when choosing D, R or P. The center console is huge. Very deep. The 360 camera system is wild. It shows parking lot stripes, discoloration in the concrete and everything.

I can tell you right now that there is more room in a SuperCab for the driver. The Driver seat goes back further.

Either his gauge is lying or he is. He claims 6.5 to 7 L per 100km on the highway which converts to 33-36 mpg US highway. I had the 3.0 and I call BS ???

Which rear axle did you have?

3:31 maximizes fuel economy and can get 30 mpg. On another forum, a posters Father got 33 mpg on a visit up from Florida.
