Why is there a delay on the 3.0 diesel? Could it be possible that the engine will be upgraded on hp and torque?

It is possible, most engines got at least minor tweaks in horsepower and torque.

Unfortunately, it’s more likely it’s delayed as a result of all the other ongoing delays. Since the take rate for the 3.0 PowerStroke isn’t that high in the F-150, they probably are focusing their production efforts elsewhere for the next few weeks.

Don’t forget, the engine is built in Europe and shipped here.
I didn’t know that. I researched it further, and it is built in Dagenham, United Kingdom.

A bit ironic the flagship American truck is powered by an engine that was developed as a joint venture with Ford and PSA - Peugeot/Citroen (France), and built in Britain. ?? ?? ??

Not much action here in the 3.0 PS section. Anyone have knowledge of what the delay is? Google can’t find me anything.

When I order the truck with the 3.0 diesel I knew it would probably be awhile to get the truck. The order guide stated late availability and I understand that the engine is something that Ford doesn't sell to many of. However I am counting on that Ford will increase the hp and torque on the engine to compete with its competitors. It will be well worth the wait if this happens!

Okay I know that some engines are made outside of the USA and parts as well. How is it that KBKEITH found a 2021 F150 with a diesel in it
and FORD is saying 3.0 diesel will be delay. Is this because of the pandemic or engine tweaks?

Pretty sure the 3.5 is assembled at the Cleveland plant. 2.7 is at the Lima, Ohio plant.
no there’s a sticker on the window that says Made in Mexico. I’ll see if I can find it. This was brought up in another forum also and yeah it’s Built in Mexico.
