The 3.0 diesel is built in England and I can't understand how a 2021 F150 with a diesel can show up at a dealer. When Ford is saying "Late Availability" on this engine.

When building a truck on Ford. Com they will only allow a 3.0 Power Stroke in a black Super Crew truck. I want a white Super Cab.

They dont offer a 36 gallon tank either. You can buy a 48 gallon aftermarket tank for $1200.

That is strange, you can build a super cab, but in Oxford White but not a Space White. Wonder why?

yea I’m also disappointed I can’t get the larger fuel cell, think the DEF tank fills up the area where a longer tank could go. The Titan tank looks nice, hard to justify the cost

Mine is a fleet order, and I ordered the 136-litre tank, I am curious which tank it comes with. There is the fuel tank option listed in the window sticker It is going down the line today after 6 months and 10 days since they received the order.

I was shocked at how large the DEF tank was, so it definitely take up a bunch of space.

I've been trying to buy the diesel since it came out. Ford sure is proud of them $$ wise. Most expensive engine in the lineup, and they back them with lesser rebates than the gassers where I live.

I got word from my salesman yesterday that my truck will be built on the week of 3/15. Hope and wondering if they increase the hp and torque on the diesel.

well that’s somewhat promising, congrats. What date did you order & some of the other specs of your build?

Mine was ordered 11/17, salesman said Monday that there was no scheduled date yet & no VIN. They have another 5 orders from around my order date in the same boat, not diesels. I doubt there will be any higher output, at this point I just want it delivered. Perhaps we lucked out on the first few rounds of bugs & recalls in the early production trucks. ??

It is a $4000 cost over and above the 3.5L, and you get a $1000 smaller rebate. Basically the engine is a $5,000 cost over the 3.5. Pass.

I perfered the diesel engine over a gas engine for the tourqe and fuel milage. I had a number of Super Duties with the Power Stroke engine and I like the diesel. Yes it cost alot more for the diesel, but I heard and reader some negative things about the Eco Boost engine as far as reliability and longevity.

The only real way to come out ahead on any of these trucks is to keep them for as long as possible.

The 3.0 is $5000 more, but is 300,000 miles possible? I believe it is. I believe that resale for a diesel is good too unless the engines are dogs. The 7.3 is like gold because some burn 100% biodiesel that guys make in their backyards. A bullet proof 6.0 sells too.

Operating costs arent that bad. DEF is $12.50 for 2,5 gallons at Home Depot. The 2021 3.0 DEF tank holds 5.4 gallons and that supposed to last 10,000 miles. $25.00 per 10,000 miles.

Fuel filters are about $40.00 at Rockauto and scheduled change is at 10,000 miles. Personally, I like the option to change fuel filters because my 2013 5.0 fuel filter is located in the gas tank.

6.5 quarts of oil for the 3.0 vs 7,75 quarts for the 2013 5.0. 3.0 oil filters are not that costly more than full synthetic gas engine filters. Air filters as well. $150 per 10,000 miles should cover it. DEF, filters and oil.

In regards to fuel costs, the thing to do is buy a 48 gallon tank from Titan and fill that baby up when you see a good deal on diesel. The extra weight isnt going to hurt you that much. I read the other day that guys dad averaged 33 mpg in his 2020 3.0 on a visit from Florida.
