Bank of America - Ford Approved - 2.29% for 72 months - I'm hoping for a Truck Month (March) or April 0% out there. I still don't have a vin so I think I'll be lucky to get my truck in March based on what is out their in the forum.

Wow that's a pretty good rate. Did you do anything special to get that? Or just good credit? How many months?

Credit Union One (Michigan based CU) has a 66 month term at 1.99% That is the route I plan to take.

It was for 72 months. Went on BOA's website and filled out the auto loan form. BOA is Ford Banks so the dealership will match it or even beat it. Gonna ask my guy to beat it!

Dealership went through US Bank and got me 1.9 for 72 month. I had "preapproval" from capital one auto for 2.5 for 72 and asked the dealership if they could do better. They were able to beat it surprisingly!

I've never understood financing in the US. Basically you go out onto the market and ask for a better deal based on credit scores?

In Canada, we typically have Ford Credit, or Honda Credit, etc., and they bundle all of these into bonds and sell them onto the market (captive financing). Only rarely, is it better to get outside financing to get the 'cash' discount.

In U.S. Good credit ( everything seems to be based off) = ability to shop around amoung the various lending institutions.

U.S - wants competition amoung its lending institutions - but it does have govt oversight - especially fair & equall lending. U.S. borrowing $$ centers around ones credit score. Better ithe score = the better interest rates.

My personal Credit Union will take as much as additional 1-3% more off of the market rate - if you have good credit & done businees with them over the years, etc..

I got 1.9% for 65 months through local CU. It would have been 2.9% if I didn't become a member.

I got 4% with Ford, may refinance, I am 23 score 760ish, so that may be part of why it was so high :)
