I’m looking to order the 5.0 V8 with the 3.15 gear ratio with 2WD. For context, I commute 4 days a week at about a little over 100 miles per week. I don’t plan on towing anything, just running errands around town and some light to mild commuting. So is that engine and gear ratio good combo for what I do? Thanks everyone!

Super sharp!! What’s your mpg like with that setup so far? Side note, never been to CB, always wanted to though! What’s your fave dish there? Lol

I have a 2022 5.0 and it started rattling at 2000 Km on the odometer. Not impressed

2021 5.0 Lariat SCREW, no regret. Don't want to deal with turbos failing, don't care about extra 20-30 HP or 40 or so ft. lb of torque, and whoever buys a Ford F-150, regardless of the engine, and discuss fuel economy is just plain wasting everyone's time. It's a freaking truck. The MPG difference is miniscule, literally identical. If you want high MPG vehicle you buy a Prius, not a truck.
Besides - those big V8 engines will fade out pretty soon "to save the planet". If I live long enough to purchase another vehicle, there will be plenty of opportunities to purchase a turbo/twin turbo/PB/etc. vehicle. Five liter V8 - not so much. I might as well enjoy it before Greta forbids it.

The maverick hybrid would be a better choice here -- those things can get up to 54mpg some how.

My 23 XLT PB is my first pick up and first Ford. I wanted V8 first when I went shopping for a pick up but I changed my mind after reading about the PowerBoost. At the time when I ordered mine, none of local dealers have it in stock and I only test drove a 3.5 EB. I just loved the idea of having on board 7.2 kw power that we can use it during our camping & fishing trips. I thought the extra 30ho and 70 torque would be great over 3.5 EB and the truck didn't disappointed me when I picked it up. When passing someone or off the light, I love the instant power from the hybrid motor that smooths out the acceleration. I don't really care about MPG since I drive a pick up but I've been trying to learn how to engage the electric only mode more often and I'm happy that I don't have to baby it to get 20-23mpg overall.
You are so right about not having to baby it. I was stepping on it coming to work this morning. Hit a hundred several times then back to 80 or so on a toll road. Still showed 20.1 for trip overall lol. That's just wrong! I love it:cool:

My 2023 makes no rattling but the doors make a lot of noise when I go over bumps, you can hear it against the door seals. Almost feels like the truck flexes too much lol, it’s both sides. My frame says it’s a HD version on the sticker, and from my understanding all 5.0 & 3.5 equipped trucks get the HD frame. I guess there is light duty, heavy duty, and HPP frames.

My truck developed a door seal rubbing noise when cooler weather hit in the fall. I think a thin coat of silicon lube along the seals will do the trick.

The 3.5L V6 has the fewest problems and the 2.7 turbo has the most with the V-8 in the middle of the range. More than enough power with the 3.5L engine and no limitations with the available configurations for towing.

I completely understand that! I chose a PB with 7.2kW because I plan on pulling an RV with it and when I'm boondocking the truck will power the trailer. The 3.5 has been around awhile and proven itself, so I purchased one and have been more than pleasantly surprised thus far. MPG in the low twenties around town or on the highway the way I drive is a nice bonus. It's also effortlessly powerful which makes me smile...
