I bought mine from a dealer. The ML3V is a 2021 model year (and later) part, so I'm confused why you say it would be in the 2017 trucks. It could be as similar design (i.e. TOD Hi-lock), but something must be different. Did someone confirm compatibility with gen 14 trucks?
IDK what I was on there. Never mind. The 17-20 are HL3V. But the fact that the 2017 Raptor was the introduction of the Hi-Lock is correct. The 2019-2020 Limited also got it.

The TOD hi-lock is ML3V-7A195-JD.
Did you get this number from a VIN search with a dealer? It doesn't show up on any Ford part website that I can find. @isthatahemi and I think @SALEEN961 used the part number I shared the screenshot of earlier, and that does show up, so there seem to be a few options.

I used a ML3Z-7A195-Z transfer case which I ordered in October of 2021 for $1007.04. The tag on my transfer case reads ML3V-7A195-JC, 48-09-000-003, and MVJC100217. I can say with 100% confidence that the transfer I used is a high-lock TOD.

In the Ford engineering part numbering system, the last character (C in your case, B in mine) tracks revisions. So you have one that is slightly updated from mine. The second to last (J) is the variant, so all J's will be hi-lock.

The service part numbers get weird. The last digit of the prefix being a Z designates a service number. The base part number stays the same (7A195) and the suffixes may or may not correlate with the engineering numbers. Very confusing.

I ordered my T-case with VIN: 1FTEW1E83PFA05452

Damn, this case has jumped like $400. Guess I'll be getting it sooner rather than later....
Yep. I finally ordered my TOD case on Monday and it was $1284. Just looked today and it’s like $1350. Crazy. I’ve already got a new tccm and the drive mode switch. Just need to figure out what forscan changes will be needed. I would assume a few are needed but we will see. I like to find out from a lariat owner which drive modes would activate 4A.

That’s my biggest complaint about the ESOF system. Slippery mode puts it in 4x4 high. Imo it should just adjust the traction control, 4H is a bit much for light snow. I know the owners manual says it’s ok to run 4x4 on wet and slippery surfaces but she binds when you try and turn without at least 1” of snow cover. I do miss 4A in the lighter snow.

I have an even worse price jump for you. I ordered a spare PCM for my truck in May of 2023 and it cost me $271.83 when the MSRP was $388.33. Now the MSRP is up to $1,201.67

Wow! I had gotten the other stuff months ago and kinda forgot about the t case. But with all the talk of the uaw strikes I thought maybe i should grab one as they might be unavailable or the price might jump. But that’s crazy for a pcm!
